Steve, you're welcome. Thanks for sharing. I bake that every week and take them with me. A lot cheaper and tastier than energy bars and it adds a great variety. Glad you were able to follow the recipe. It's a lot of fun, just make sure the bananas are nice and ripe with lots of brown freckles.

At the end of the week we have all sorts of ripe fruits. We get a blender, add 2 scouts of ice cream, 1 scoop of yogurt some milk and then bananas , strawberries and blueberries and then we have a tall milkshake.

Eldred, I've made this recipe 4 times in the past week or so! My wife and daughter both love it as much as I do. It is also great 'on the bike' fuel as you said. I use unsalted butter so I add just a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Thanks so much for this video, I am hooked!

Scott. I am so glad you tried the recipe. I use it all the time to 'save' those bananas. I am glad you and your family loves it. I share them with my daughters and wife as well. They are great all around, on or off the bike.

Welcome to the channel Khrystopher. I make that bread weekly since my wife insists on buying bananas often. I hate to waste food, so it is a great alternative to avoid getting sick of eating bananas.

Little did I know I was about to bake banana bread in the not too distant future. :D Q; Do you know how long they keep in room temp? They seem great for backpacking too, so a ballpark for shelf life would be awesome... Thx for another great video btw!

I wouldn't leave them out for more than a few days. I store mine in the fridge after cutting them in bite size pieces.

Do you know, is any of the nutritional value of the banana lost when making the banana bread?
@Veloharmony8 жыл бұрын
Matthew, that's deep man. I never considered that angle. Once I saw your question, I had to find out. After reading numerous articles on the subject here is best summary that I found from the African Journal of biotechnology on bananas: "While your typical ripe banana will not change in nutritional value during the baking process, the ripeness of the banana itself will have a direct effect on moisture levels and the overall nutritional value of the fruit itself. According to the African Journal of Biotechnology, as a banana ripens, its magnesium levels decrease. In addition, moisture content increases in bananas until they become overripe, resulting in a dried, discolored banana. While baking bananas, the temperature of the oven will cause the bananas to prematurely ripen. This premature ripening results in changes to the magnesium content and moisture found in the bananas."
