Three years ago when my wife and I visited Kolkata, India we sampled many restaurants that served the food on a banana leaf bed, especially chicken and mutton biryani. It was a very amazing experience. We had to learn how to eat with our fingers and it was fun. Would love to repeated the experience again.

I've been to Acha's curry house once before nice food. Haven't been to the Selangor Club, always thought it was only for members. My favorite is the old school restaurants runned by the Chetty community at Lebuh Ampang usually not known by the masses only kept so a closed network. The tastes are more authentic unlike the ones the ones elsewhere. Good video Sarah 👍

All that for 60 ringgit? What a feast ! In Ireland I can only manage to get a sad looking sandwich with watery coffee. There's only one malaysian restaurant in dublin/ ireland , their nasi lemak costs 60 ringgit. It's just rice, egg, a piece of fried chicken drumstick and sambal. What a rip off. You are very lucky to eat such good quality food. How lucky you are to savour such good quality food. Makes me feel envious.🦀🦐🐙🦑🍜🦞🍤🍱

Oh, you're Malaysian from Ireland! Where is your nearest Asian market? Yes, it's amazing to live in KL. Even during a lockdown. We can still somewhat order good food. Banana Leaf Rice restaurant even provides fresh banana leaves for takeaway! Come back when it's safe!

Crab looked stunning. and crab curry looked thick and rich. Fish cutlet hmmm reminds me of my Mums cooking as well, Spanish Mackrel hmmm nicely fried. Both shops were good. Which curry shop you prefered the best of the 2? Glad you thought of your Mum and bought Takeaways for her. Thoughtful of you! Nice video and good clear camera too. Well done!

I think I prefer RSC's crab curry. But Acha's crab curry and salted fish combo which I believe is not available at RSC was amazing. And the kulfi was a bonus! Mom loved eating out but unable to do so recently. There are a lot of restrictions due to the semi-lockdown and she avoids going to crowded places. So the least I can do is to takeaway something for her. Can you pinpoint which part you like in the video? I'm figuring out how to make better videos and feedback would help. Thanks!

@@sara_khong The whole presentation on this video was great. I couldn't pick a special part. Lucky I planned some climbing, like Broga Hill, Kota kinabalu and some others, so not too worried about taking on some kgs. Just the fact of escaping freezing winter here once in 10yrs is a good enough reason to go back.

Great video. Sara you don't want to go into a men only bar. Here is the secret. We drink too much and tell naughty jokes like little boys. The only difference between men and boys is the price of the toys. I also am a big believer in women only venues where the women can enjoy themselves without the interference of their caveman boyfriends/husbands.

The men only rule are there for a reason. Behind every successful man is a woman. I think the men must be quite successful to belong to the club. That exclusive area is to stop the wives from going in to pulling the men away from the bar (by their ears). 😂

Sara, the rules are made to be broken. I was at the RSC in 2002 and was told by my friend, who was the IOI director that I should come in jeans as he told his brother, who was my classmate from Malacca, to give me a pair. Nevertheless, I rocked up in my usual Canterbury rugby shorts and tee shirts as the weather is just too hot for me. The jaga did not refused me entry as he could see I was so muscular that any tussles or dispute will probably caused him to end up on his bum. No drama was created and I think the rules in this day and age is archaic but Malaysia will always be Malaysia. A backward looking nation beset by the Four Rs of which Kak Mariam Mokhtar eloquently put. Should check her Facebook page. A true patriot. There was a big fly at the second restaurant hovering over the fish.

I think shorts is fine if dining outside (verandah area). Yes! Words are after all not an instrument of mathematical precision. Club: “women and children below 18 are not allowed” Sara: “But I am a woman above 18” 😂

@@sara_khong Yes, who is the clown who made those rules? They should be checked into a lunatic asylum. Oh BTW, the way your mum made the char siu is way too elaborate and expensive. We ran a wan tan mee stall in Malacca and all we add to the pork is sugar and salt, no pepper at all but nice recipe and will try. We use an oil drum and obviously charcoal.
