@camarokidbb43472 ай бұрын
Honestly, heft aside, I still don’t think the Desert Eagle’s a good conceal carry weapon due to its width for the capacity, even with .357 Magnum. It’s about double the width of an M1911, and you can get those in 10mm Auto which has very similar ballistic performance to .357 Magnum, albeit trading slight penetration for (ironically) slightly more energy spent on the target. I’m not even arguing capacity for a conceal carry weapon, as most situations where conceal carry is concerned end with about 3 shots from the shooter at most. Anything more than 5-6 rounds is overkill for a conceal carry imho, unless you’re expecting to take on multiple threats, or you genuinely need more than 3 rounds just to stop the threat like with a .22 LR handgun (good out of a rifle, not that good out of a handgun). That, and the more rounds of a mag dump into a target, the more the courts’ll look at you like you’re an axe murderer. As for caliber, I’d personally stick with (relatively speaking) slower, wider rounds. I’m not saying this to diss 9x19mm, which I’m actually including as an example, I’m saying this because slower, wider rounds tend to dump more energy on a single target than faster, slimmer rounds. The point at which those faster, slimmer rounds tumble and cause permanent damage from temporary wound cavities requires rifle-length barrels, which is something unattainable with a conceal carry platform, thus leaving those slimmer, faster rounds to overpenetrate cover (or even the target in question). With slower, wider rounds, the increased surface area makes it harder to penetrate through a target, or in the event of a missed shot, go through a wall and kill someone else entirely. While the aforementioned slower/wider rounds also being heavier may counter this point, hollow points (especially .45 ACP hollow points) are much lighter than regular FMJ, which means it’s even less likely for missed shots to overpenetrate cover, and it’s almost impossible for it to completely overpenetrate a target. TL;DR: Heft aside, DEagles also have a big profile for their capacity, with M1911s in 10mm Auto offering only one less bullet for their similar ballistics and far slimmer profile. That said, capacity shouldn’t be a deciding factor in a conceal carry weapon (unless you’re facing multiple threats), and rounds that are wider (leaving more surface area, thus making it harder to penetrate, thus leading to better energy transfer) are typically better for these circumstances anyhow.

You could then measure the water in the dish, subtract the amount from the full jug, and then compare relative power from one gun/ammo to another. Maybe this ain't as good an idea as I think, like it isn't exactly scientific, or the dish breaks/spills the water, but I believe this could be a good way to quantify the results of the splatter test.

Lol, I have no desire to shoot the 500. I shot a Desert Eagle way back when and thought it was a little rough in spite of the weight. I think the worst that I remember in a handgun was a stubbie S&W model 629 (like a 2" barrel). My memory could be wrong though, it has been decades. I'll stick with 1911s, Glock 17s, and "normal" wheel guns. Peace Love, and thanks for the entertainment!

It's fun, also you hear a lot of "wtf is that?" when everyone at the range stops.

That noise the goose makes is exactly why we call them Cobra chickens.

BB, not sure if placebo or not, but it seems like you left the info after chrono on screen for literally half a second longer... if you noticed my comment on the last(?) video, I sincerely thank you - it makes a huge difference

You need to try the 700 grain bullet

Apologies if you've already heard this before. Can you record "the grinch" song and post it? Holy pipes dude.

Surprised you havent put plywood or something up on that cage you shoot from. Just for a lil added protection

I’d like to see this done with something like underwood hard cast or extreme penetrator. Honestly idk if they even make those in these calibers.
