Many comments seem to ignore parts of the video. Maybe because they didn't watch the entire thing. A *perfect* bhop, is when you jump on the right tick of the server so you don't lose any momentum/speed. Yes anyone can bhop 8-9 times in a row, but doing perfect bhops 8-9 times in a row is rare as explained in my video. To further explain why, 1 tick on 64 is 15.625 milliseconds. 1 tick on 128 is 7.8125 milliseconds. It's inhuman to react fast enough to consistently perform perfect bhops, therefor spamming jump which is a safe way of timing bhops, causes the probability of +jump to land on the correct tick to be at most 50%. You can do a test and see for yourself what your reaction speed is: www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime So yes you can probably hit 10, 20, 30 bhops in a row... But, doing perfect bhops in a row in large amounts multiple times is statistically speaking close to impossible (unless you're cheating).

@@ICECOLD_SEAL That would be true if the CSGO speed cap weren't so harsh - and that's exactly what people do in e.g. Half-Life speedruns, where ground friction is really low so you can just take a little speed loss each jump and make it up with more airstrafing. Unfortunately in CSGO you're losing a ton of speed the moment you land due to stamina mechanics so you really have to be perfect. The same applies in L4D games, which hard cap your ground speed so the only way to bunnyhop consistently is to perfectly time jumps. This is extremely hard but is still possible since L4D only runs at 30 ticks, so a handful of people have gotten really good at it. In CS though, 64 and especially 128 tick servers just make it impossible for a human. Oh also, the "50%" cited in this video is a little misleading, since that assumes perfect scrolls that exactly align with the tickrate. In practice, the combination scroll speed, framerate, network jitter etc is gonna make the success rate even lower.

Well, the scroll wheel method only let you have a 50% chance, however, getting a jump input on the second tech that it’s available isn’t that bad. It leads to very negligible speed loss that you can easily make up in an airstrike. Theoretically it should only take you down to around 260 at the most. And then, you can make up that Speed with air strafing. Combine that with the fact that you have a 50% chance to land a perfect jumping foot. And I think it makes the hops pretty good

I constantly practice my bhops in comps, eventually you learn the rough timings and animations for surfaces. It's not 100%, but you can definitely get close.

Yeah, the information in this video is informative, however, I feel like the conclusion of the video is definitely off. Sure, the chance of hitting a bhop may be low if you throw a bot that constantly scrolls down, but to be realistic it's more like throwing the most advanced machine learning bot at it, human input. Sure you can't count the exact time of when to scroll down, but you can subconsciously estimate the time according to the surface and how you have previously succeeded in bhopping.

Really appreciate how you put a lot of effort into understanding topics like this before making a video, I rarely see that with movement videos (especially bhop tutorials (@tamale)). I just have a few corrections/extra info. Firstly, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to send a jump input on the tick you land on the ground, not the tick before. Also, scrolling generally won't trigger +jump,-jump,+jump,-jump,+jump etc. consecutively, since it's very hard to actually scroll at the perfect rate. This means that realistically it's not actually a 50 percent chance to hit a perfect bhop, and it more comes down to how good your scroll pattern is (if you can perfectly scroll and trigger +jump then -jump then +jump). Scroll pattern is also the main distinction between 64 and 128 tick, since you have to scroll faster in order to have the perfect scroll pattern on 128 tick. Probably should also clarify that actually registering a jump requires the jump input to be sent without one before it, so if you were either scrolling too fast or holding your jump key and sending +jump,+jump for instance, that second jump input would be ignored (unless the server was using sv_autobunnyhopping)

once I got a computer and abandoned my toaster that ran csgo at 13.6~fps, I found myself having to relearn how to bhop, but once I got through the megafps barrier I saw myself being a little more consistant in terms of higher accuracy, still trading consistancy for accuracy. Neat vid btw.

there is also a way to build up a muscle memory for certain locations based on where you are and how long it takes to land at your target area, ie mirage vent bhop and cat jump. I think that is why i can hit it around 60% of the time and most of the players with really good movement can hit it even more.

I feel like It depends on the map. If you play Cache you can bhop consistantly as the map is almost completely flat. Especially with a Macro you can Hit consistant bhops but also not as hard with mwheel

yes, and im very happy about it :D it tooke me some time tho. the thing is if you played 1.6 bhop for a few years, you know to put your jump for example on the wheel. sadly the mechanics are not the same compared to my old fav cs version, but its at least still working. the community server mostly use autobhop which prevents people from actually learning how to bhop, and time their jumps properly. i really miss the old grind, and long jumps, crouch jumps, drop bhops, standups, etc. also i want to remind if you can time your jumps decently you can bhop without strafing, if you pre- strafe in a fine way. this will look like a script for sure in any overwatch or replay. we have to focus on the misses of the jumps, cause a script wont miss :)

most people use the scroll wheel right before you fall instead of spamming it , and with that usually I get 3-4 bhops perfectly with scroll wheel. The difference between 128 tick and 64 tick is that the stages are much faster with 128 tick

There's also a 'speed limit' at around 300ups iirc. Landing while going any faster will stop you from doing another. So optimal bhop is: Reach 299ups with first bhop > stop airstrafing > bhop in straight line so you dont gain speed.

The thing is that 128-tickrate is easier becuse there is more ticks around the ”perfect-tick” and if you miss it, the next jump-tick is closer than it would be on a 64-tic. Well for more experienced bhoppers it is about 70-90% change to hit the first bhop cause they have the timing in their muscle memory. But the bhops after the first bhop are about 10% change to hit. So you must be lucky at bhopping and you must have the timing right to bhop ”consistantly”

Unless you are a robot or a super human it really doesn't change the 50/50 chance of landing a perfect bhop. How many times you can land perfect bhops really depends on how lucky you are with the timing. Taken from Tyler Pontius, the average reaction to visual stimulus will be around 250 milliseconds and most people seem to be hard capped at around 190-200 ms with training. Now mind that this is only in an environment where your brain is processing 1 specific event, if there is a lot going on at the time it tends to be around 500-600 milliseconds or half a second! Apparently the fastest reaction to visual stimulus recorded in a test on competitive video game players is about 120 milliseconds which is extremely fast. Using a tick rate of 64 represents 15.625 ms per tick, 7.8125 ms on 128 tick. This is why players landing multiple perfect bhops several times over and over again are prone to be suspicious.
