Actually my favourite from Epic Narratives. Masterpiece.

Great reaction always. Kanami losing her Grandmother was the catalyst for this song's creation. The song asks questions about what is life and how life has many changes......just like the song structure. It was intentional. Saiki also was inspired by listening to artists who are no longer alive and she conversely expresses how she hopes that Band Maid will inspire others, long after they are gone. Rock on 🤘

You read the lyrics few times and each time your interpretation might be different. Emotional, introspective and philosophical.

Lyrics, Saiki discovered that there were artists in the past whose songs/tales had been forbidden to be played/read but now were becoming available. This is about hearing them anew, the shadows of the past touching the now, and wondering if in the future people will discover them through their music. Composition by Kanami is as said by others.

From Japan. This song is from the new album, released on 25 September. The lyrics were written by SAIKI. When composing this song, KANAMI lost his grandmother some time ago and thought a lot about life and decided to take on a slightly bigger theme. SAIKI understood KANAMI's feelings and wrote the lyrics as much as possible to suit KANAMI's wishes. As for the content of the lyrics, it is difficult for me to express them in English, but they are about feelings for loved ones and for those who have passed away. If you listen to the song after understanding the lyrics, you may be moved to tears. The songs on the new album are excellent and you should listen to them. This song has already become one of my favourites.

My simplest description of "Forbidden Tale" is dynamic. There are so many changes of beat, tone, and scenery between choruses with each being distinctly different that you almost feel off-kilter by it. That's what Band-Maid seems to do, to a lesser degree, in their songs.

Such a gorgeous song. ❤ Maids continue to impress. ❤

The lyrics were written by the singer Saiki. She said she was thinking of all the songs that have influenced people and in the past had been forbidden and forgotten but still resonate today. She hoped people would remember their songs long after they are gone. Kanami, unbeknown to Saiki was influenced in the music by the loss of her Grandmother. She was pondering on life and death and what it all means. But as in all Band Maid songs they are an album of ideas in one track. The album this comes from 'Epic Narratives' is a superb album which has a narrative going through it from each track. They continue to be a band of excellence.

It's about a unique story of the band, captured for posterity and passed on into the future. Saiki asked Kanami for a song with a lot of evolution in the music, and Saiki wrote the lyrics thinking of someone in the far future coming across Band-Maid and uncovering the tale of the band.
@rockyetsx70Ай бұрын
Here's Saiki's translated comments on writing the song from the Barks article SAIKI: Every day I feel the greatness of music, and when I was researching the history of music, I learned that there were songs that were forbidden to sing and stories that were forbidden to tell in the distant past. However, nowadays, with modern technology, we have the chance to restore them and listen to them, and the reality is that we can now read stories that were once forbidden. That made me realize that art is something that never disappears, and I thought that this in itself is very romantic and beautiful. When I thought about what would happen if we expressed life in music, while asking the question "What is life?" that KANAMI asked, I realized that "living" means "we are here now." I wrote this with the hope that even if our bodies were to disappear, someone might someday pass on this music. I thought that it would be nice if our music would remain in the future. I thought it would be wonderful if people in the future who would never know BAND-MAID would find out about them through this song, and if their music could give someone a push. I've experienced something like that myself. There are many musicians who were no longer in the world when I started to like music, right? But their music gave me courage, taught me the greatness of music, and gave me a push, so I wrote these lyrics hoping that I could do that someday.

Indeed it is new, one of the most popular songs off the new Epic Narratives album. The One is my personal favourite though and not only off this album but up there as one of my favourite BM songs period

Yep "The One" is my fave song too. It's better than "Daydreaming" but that's only my personal opinion...which is right.😏

I've been thinking of this piece as their Welcome to the Black Parade in terms of epic-ness. Yes, they continue, improbably, to evolve and improve. Yet another great reaction, Rick, rock on!

I think this song represents Band-Maid if that makes sense. If someone doesn’t like this song, they didn’t really listen.
@TlanImassАй бұрын
Saiki-san wrote the lyrics for this track and when Kanami-san composed the music she asked the question "What is life?" (Someone close to her recently passed away. Most assume it's her grandmother.) So Saiki wrote the lyrics with that question in mind. The ebb and flows, transitions, and different tempos are the vicissitudes of life. (That's my understanding at least.)
@GaryHolloway-810Ай бұрын
And your understanding would be correct & in the process stopped me from having to write a comment.😁👌

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Rick!
