Hey Kyle Another new band alert. BAND MAID has been the best find for me in years and I haven't listened to much more since discovering them. But on the weekend I found a band called "The Sixsters". No comparison to BAND MAID as they are in a league of their own. However, The Sixsters are a band everyone needs to hear (in my opinion). A five piece all female group from Ukraine - I read they were in Germany now because of the war in Ukraine Try "Feels" - "Hold" - "Fever" - "City" ... and there's more. WELL worth a listen. Lyrics unusually written by the lead singer Saiki. Lyrics usually written by Miku (backing singer and rhythm guitarist). Based on a friend of Saiki who during Covid had problems with her partner playing away.

I always had a weak spot on Kanami, and I love how she moves closer to Misa in the battle. Such classy moves of a panther.

You are definitely not imagining the lead guitar just going nuts in the background all the time. She's the main composer, and she loves to play intricate counter melodies and what not in the background. Their songs are so dense, you need to watch 6 times. Once just overall, and once focusing on each instrument. And after 150 listens, you still hear different things. Their appeal hits on so many levels it's ridiculous.

KANAMI is always riffing as does MISA who is on the bass and not sticking to the basic rhythm either, and there is AKANE on the drums. MIKU is holding everyone together with her rhythm guitar work so it all comes together. It has been said that you could break out about 3 or 4 songs out of 1 BAND MAID song.

Kanami doesn't write like most guitarists. She started on piano, probably so long ago she doesn't even remember, and she writes like a composer with an orchestra in mind. Her guitar parts are what you would hear in the woodwinds or brass section of an bigger ensemble. It all fits because she's fleshing out the bones of a solid framework. When you realized the lyrics are the most brutal kiss-off ever ... 😂 Taylor, listen and learn. This is how you humiliate someone!

"10 minutes of limp gymnastics" is the best song line that's been written since "reluctantly crouched at the starting line" and "choking on the splinters".

Kanami is my favorite guitarist these days, and one of my all-time favorites, and what you said is one of the reasons. As for the song, the ? really is out of place. There’s NO question she hates that guy!

Band-Maid met The Warning once backstage at a music festival and they became instant friends and mutual admirers. Two amazingly talented great bands, one from Japan and the other from Mexico, sharing the same love for music were fortunately able to meet up there.

just goes to show, you don't want to anger someone who has a platform to get their message to the public, Saiki (lead vocals) wrote these lyrics when she was very angry with the husband of a good friend because he cheated, Saiki has always been known as a straight talker, and you make her angry ?? not a good thing
