Good job. Glad you're continuing with Band-Maid. This shows you some of their diversity. The pigeon hole is deep. After Domination which shows you the quintessential Band-Maid try the MV-Warning (a very hot song and video) or ONSET-Live (an instrumental that rocks the house and showcases the 4 instrumentalists). No other band can match the consistency and magnitude of great music over the last 8 years as BAND-MAID. They are Awesome. Peace.

In Black Hole, Nao's influence on Akane is obvious. Akane said that discovering MTH's drummer was a woman made her realize nothing was impossible for a female drummer and it gave her confidence. On another side, I think that the fact Nao has two childrens now, without stopping her career (ecxept during pregnancy of course) may be a very positive influence on some other drummers like Tamu (Nemophila) and Yuri (Gacharic Spin) who recently gave birth and resumed their activity - untill recently, most young japanese women were stopping their professionnal activity once they became mothers. So Nao is really a very important role model! "Domination" live is a perfect choice!

Another great reaction. Yes, Akane (ah-KAH-neh) is manic, as are the rest of the band. Band founder, rhythm guitarist, backup vocalist Miku is the one who writes the lyrics. I'm convinced that Manners is her subtle middle finger to the skeptics who said that her concept for the band would never work, thus the Ahahahahahahaha. Don't overlook their slower songs such as Daydreaming MV, About Us live, and their acoustic performances.

Nice pickup on the overall message of Manners. Manners is a very special song for the band. So special in fact that on their special edition 2 CD set of Unseen World, this is the only song that appears on both CDs. Miku (Rhythm Guitar and Backup vocals, lyricist) stated in an interview that the lyrics for this song is about their band. For context from the very beginning of this band, they had the goal of World Domination through their music. They had a difficult beginning, not being taken seriously or even ridiculed for having such dreams. The lyrics talks about the difficult beginning, but making progress through courage and the band's evolution, beyond expectations, breaking through the limits. Their mission of taking over the world is still unfinished but they are going to make their sounds roar until its in their grasp. The backup vocals towards the ends calls out to Masters and Princess (what the band calls their fans) to join them in their continued quest and into the unseen world.

I quite like the official video for Manners, actually. The artistic aspects of it are really well done with the lighting and themes and the way the shots are set up. Same with Daydreaming. The video for Warning is a lot of fun, too. Also, here's a little crash course in Japanese pronunciation for you. It starts with the vowels: a = 'ah' i = 'ee' u = 'ooh' e = 'eh' o = 'oh' In English and a lot of other languages, the pronunciation of some vowels changes depending on context, but not in Japanese. No silent vowels, either. They will always be the same no matter where you see them. So Akane will be Ah-KAH-neh. From there you can extrapolate most of the other sounds. Ka Ki Ku Ke Ko, Ma Mi Mu Me Mo, and so on. There are a couple of inconsistencies, ( ex. Ta Chi Tsu Te To) but these aren't really gonna be relevant when you're just reading the names of people and places. Anyway, hope this helps!

Another Mv that is meaningful is Alone, the bands first self written song allowed onto an album. Miku writes the lyrics, Kanami does the main song composition, then gets input from Misa and Akane (Ah-con-neh) for their parts, and Saiki is qc, a collaborative effort from these amazing ladies! I can see you were listening to the songs more intently this time around, which is a positive sign. After Domination, you can go check their instrumental, either onset or without holding back, then check out some more of you are interested. One thing I can agree with you though... I love maximum the hormone, too. They are my second favorite band so far. And so does Akane. I think MTH inspired her to pick up the drum sticks. She was practicing on her own in the highschool music room or something for a couple of hours a week because she didn't have a drumset. She loved the Nintendo game called drum no tatsujin (The master of drums) and was so good at it that she was somehow convinced that she could become a professional drummer. At that time she was kind of feeling invincible but then she went to a proper music school and took up real lessons and it turned out she was the only one with basic techniques. Well, she must've practiced real hard as I think she's become one of the bests. And yes Nao taught Akane how to use double bass drum pedal.
