Honestly, on the live video Miku impressed me the most all of the superheroes were excellent, but I Miku was so noticeable, both with her guitar playing and vocals. This is the most confident and comfortable that I have ever seen her live. She makes it so easy. This pigeon is becoming a phenomenal musician, vocalist and performer. In this video for me the pigeon rules.

This is one of my favorite Band-Maid songs. Anytime I want to feel good I listen to this song. It just feels so uplifting and the "far away" refrain is just *chef's kiss* so choice. The composition of this is song brilliant. Sooo much going on with it. This is one of the very, very few songs that I actually prefer the studio version over the live version. Now, you mentioned the lighting in the video... if you notice the colors correspond to the various sections of the song. In the first 2 choruses the lighting is red as the tension is building... then the lights turn white as they go into bridge leading to the solo... then as all the tension releases and we get the reprise with "far away" the lights strobe red, white, blue... its a simple, yet well crafted music video that was brilliantly shot. The cinematograply, lighting choices, and the lack of focus on their faces. If you notice you never really get a full shot of their faces. I think that was a brilliant stylistic choice. Forces the viewer/listener to focus on the song itself. And my favorite is MISA and Saiki during the triangle lights... just sublime.

awww man missed the stream by "that" much. It's hard to pick my fav Band-Maid song but this is easily one of three or four in contention. I LOVE the outtro of this song, that solo over everything, that descending riff mirroring the intro... *chef's kiss* the community picked the right song to react to from that list! :D

At 60+years of age I have had the privilege of being passionate about band's also, an example would be the Beatles, then Led Zeppelin, onto Van Halen, and Metallica/Megadeath, but never before have I had the pure worship for a group of artists like Band Maid, they have become my favorite band, so please don't be apologetic about being passionate for the greatest band on the planet today.

I go back to when the Stones were the support group and and I agree , no band has got under my skin like Band Maid. It's spooky but very pleasant. I think it may be the combination of superb musicians who do not act like rock stars.

@armynurseboy3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you noticed, but during the slow part where Saiki and Miku are harmonizing, there is a distorted harmonic from Kanami in the background. At first it sounds like just a harmonic ringing out after the solo, but then it's followed by two more that are in tune with the singing, sounding a lot like the harmonic volume swells that EVH used in "Cathedral".... And the outro is the reverse of the intro..... As for the live version, the last lick of the intro part (ie your "boop-de-doo") sounds different because in studio she did a bend on a pinch harmonic. Kanami has a tendency to not do pinch or squeal harmonics live. Dunno why.

When Kanami writes the tracks, Akane will often complain, "This part cannot be played by a human." Good thing The Beast is half Gorilla and half Drum Machine. Some how she always makes it work.
@jkkansasband70563 жыл бұрын
It's was recommended because the song as a whole is awesome. Miku and Kanami only on Prime for now.
@kairukafuka60223 жыл бұрын
This is the song where every band member contributed to the whole structure of the song, not just Kanami being the main composer. Miku actually composed the melody of the chorus and the bridge (she did forget for a while until Kanami reminded her). If this is the end result of every member's writing capabilities, then their future is bright if they are now more open to each other's composition, like an album where each member writes a song, and of course supervised by Master Kanami (MISA and Saiki are now composing and practicing since last year).
@michaelpalmer37173 жыл бұрын
I read somewhere that Kanami grew a little annoyed at being the sole melody composer and demanded input from the others. She then combined their ideas to produce Blooming. Can't imagine Kanami growing annoyed but then she is a workaholic and drives the others hard. Kanami throwing a strop would be cute beyond words. No insult intended.

Agree with all of the Akane comments, like continuously varying patterns, and use of toms. On the latter, maybe she's got just a bit of Ginger Baker in her...
