Holyshit She switched between pick & finger play MID SOLO!! WTF?! O_O
@VladimirChupin
@VladimirChupin 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, she commented on it, that she was specifically trying to figure out how she can switch between pick and slap in the middle of a solo. She finally developed that technique, where she holds the pick with her index finger while slapping. But when she starts playing with finger technique, she has to get rid of the plectrum completely, and she puts it in her mouth, as most guitarists do in such cases.

Yes, Misa deftly tucks the pick away and starts plucking dat bass in the middle of playing. It's tough to catch if you're not looking for it.

After seeing Band-Maid and BabyMetal last week, I gotta say Band-Maid might very well be the best pure rock band on the planet. Have no desire to see BabyMetal again, but would most surely catch these youngsters again. They bring it.

Same for me. I have seen both and absolutely love them playing live. So much energie! The Babymetal concert was a very good show and fun aswell but it feels very produced. If they are around next year i'm gonna see Band-Maid again for sure :)

The talent level is off the charts, JIMMY PAGE of (LED ZEPPELIN) loves BANDMAID...... These girls are flat out ROCK STARS. KANAMI(Lead Guitar ) channeling her inner EDDIE VAN HALEN. AKANE (DRUMS )channeling her inner JONH BONHAM. MISA ( BASS ) well just being MISA. MIKU(GUITAR ) channeling her inner rock star. ( SHRED ON LADIES )

I've seen an interview where Misa said her favorite bass player was Paz Lenchantin, bass player for the bands Entrance/A Perfect Circle/Zwan/Queens of Stone Age and the Pixies. After watching a video of Paz performing Temptation, I immediately recognized Misa's spirit animal when she is killing that bass onstage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJjKYoOAltVnhq8

What impresses me, after listening to a good number of their videos is that you can hear each of them throughout the song. No one is hidden or turned down. That to me is superb musicianship. But am I the only one picking up that Kanami is playing lead riffs all the way through most songs? I think its awesome! Miku has come a long way on the guitar from the days of Thrill, of course with her teacher how could be any other way?.

Yes, Misa flips the pick into her palm and slaps then picks again. She sometimes has it in her mouth (like in "Play") and sometimes wedges it at the finger guard. On the Band Maid show you are missing, below is a quote from a Reddit poster (Ambitious_berry) who saw both Babymetal and Band-Maid shows in Dallas. "I saw BABYMETAL on Tuesday as well. I'm a huge fan of both groups, but I have to say that BAND-MAID puts on a better show, hands-down. It's not even a contest. I don't want to turn this into a BAND-MAID vs. BABYMETAL discussion because everyone likes something different. But for me, it's BAND-MAID all the way." He mentioned that Babymetal shows was 100% pre-arranged and choreographed whereas B-M show was totally different and organic. Both the band and audience were there to have good time and were having a good time and they showed it by interacting with the audience numerous times and that everything was very organic. He said he will listen to both bands 90% of the time but if given a choice between going BABYMETAL show and a BAND-MAID show, he will pick BAND-MAID every time. He also said Babymetal did put up a very good polished show, however. I saw Band-Maid's Gramercy show. They were kick ass awesome. They are one of the best live band bar none - just my opinion. But, since I didn't see Babymetal, i can't really comment on them. Listen, i saw some clips of the Babymetal concerts and yes people were having a good time, so not putting down BM shows at all. But, just wanted to give you a little impression.

I just attended the two Band-Maid shows in Los Angeles and I will be seeing Babymetal tonight in San Francisco, next week in Los Angeles, then Sacramento, Portland, and finally Seattle That having been said the Band-Maid shows were absolutely phenomenal!! As great as Babymetal is live they would be hard-pressed to match Band-Maid

That's one think i really love about MISA's play, I can't think of any other bassist who switches between using her fingers or a pick and during the same song. For me she is up there with the likes of Les Claypool and Geddy Lee interms of sheer talent

I feel ya. I saw Band maid in Dallas on Saturday. Literally a few days after babymetal played Dallas. I had to choose too. I was glad I saw Band maid. I saw babymetal last year and have never seen Band maid before and they put on a great show. Band Maid has been playing a new instrumental on this recent tour. There is a decent quality fan cam with decent sound from the Dallas show I saw. Check it out. It's really good. Band maid - Don't Be Long (live fancam) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHiZp2SIrpqErc0

Misa did a recent interview and she said she folds the pick in her index finger while she's playing. she said she prefers the pick since it gives a more specific sound(probably since she started as a guitarist). too bad you missed them though. the NY gigs were really good according to the videos i've seen.

Another great reaction as usual, they always deliver. There's already a couple of fancams up from Sunday's show and they look like they're having a great time, but when moneys tight, you have to pick and choose, they'll be back and we still have all the videos to watch over and over again.

Love your reactions to them. Should do a reaction to "Freedom". Miku has to solo singing parts in that one. Towards the beginning and at the end. From what I understand she started the band and was going to be lead singer, but didn't think her voice was strong enough for the types of songs they were going to play. She has a nice voice regardless. The band seems to be having fun on stage during song and Saiki goes a bit into the crowd to sing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIqqlIJ4bbiSd68

Saiki didn't get into the crowd a bit, they took her. They did give her back minus her shoes. Per comments of people at that concert it was the women only section of audience that "took her". That was why Miku finished the song.

Nice reaction. Thinking of great instrumentals for guitar, have you heard Race Wish - Hizaki, or Church Candle? The guitar playing is top draw technically with real emotion in the sound. It's like the guitar is crying or singing. suggested link HIZAKI grace project - Race wish (guitar solo), and HIZAKI - Church Candle.

Favorite part of the performance is Akane's big smile during her drum solo. What song should be next? Hmm... You heard their three popular bass vs guitar songs, and two of their instrumentals. There is a fancam for another instrumental called Without Holding Back. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJezmGSDasyVnq8 Another interesting performance that you might like is the live acoustic version of Anemone. As I understand it, she was classically trained at a prestigious Japanese music school along with the drummer and one of the traditional Japanese lute called a Shamisen uses a big pick that resembles a comb, I'm guessing that's probably where she got the idea and influence.
