I watched a baby metal circus on utube video and was not impressed (I like the Kami Band but not into silly little dancing cheerleaders who don't write their own music, play their own music and are a completely produced act) but Band Maid was mentioned and I fell instantly in love (THRILL) and IT WAS OBSESSION AFTER THAT

My first time ever hearing Band-Maid was last October when I was watching music reaction videos and kept seeing ones for this band pop up in my suggested feed, finally clicked on one and it happened to be your reaction to DICE. I was one of those "Oh, they're dressed as maids? They sing in Japanese? Pffft." people a few years ago. That was until I saw a reaction to DICE. I mean, come on. The maid costumes start to mean a whole lot less after you hear playing like that. I just hope they keep waking people up like they did to me. I'm sure they did at Lollapalooza the past few days. Man, they were really outstanding. 😀

If any band wants a road map on how to succeed, then Band Maid is the one to follow. Seeing how they have grown musically and personally since Thrill should be required reading for all bands. The only thing that has grown with the band is their musicianship and their respect for each other, which results in the best music I have ever heard. If there is an ego within this band, it's a collectively one of all the members together. They deserve respect.

Band Maid return to the roots of a philosophical lyric full of hope and keep on trying vibe. Hard pulsating music and the feeling you have to play it again. Band Maid have two types of song. Gets better on repeats or gets monumentally better on repeat. Up to the individual. Very much a Band Maid type song. Even old school Band Maid. They work and evolve but never forget what they are. The best Rock Band around.

The difference between Band Maid and all the other incredibly awesome Japanese female rock bands are two things, in my opinion: Mincho composes awesome jams that remind us 60+ old rockers what we have been missing for so many years. The other J-rock bands don't have a Mincho. The icing on the cake is Saiki. She is one of a kind. That voice. Not another like it.

I don’t remember my first band maid song. It’s an combination of thrill, domination, and onset and I remember really liking them all. But I’ll never forget it was Dice that made something click inside me where I realized how much I actually liked their music and it’s only gone up since then

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘 Thx, OldSkule!

Thank you for the reaction. Great song! For me, it's always been about the music, and in my mind I ignore everything else (as with all the other bands I've fallen in love with). The maid aesthetic for me has a mildly unpleasant subservient flavor (not so in Japanese culture to my knowledge) - but this is all dust in the hurricane that is their fabulous music.
