Hey JD, wait till you check out their 2 latest uploads from the same concert as Unleash. Especially if you like an AWESOME guitar/bass conversation. DON'T YOU TELL ME-Live and just uploaded today HATE-Live. And don't forget the MV of their latest instrumental FROM NOW ON. Also, the fire was not CGI. The Maids said they enjoyed when the fires were lit because it was freezing in that warehouse. PEACE 1.08

The thing is Band Maid isn’t just “metal”, but they can, and do, play metal quite a bit, mixed with many other things. There’s always a pop sensibility in there somewhere, which makes them so addictive. Try “Hate?” live next. Just released today on their channel. You’re guaranteed to love it.

Next Band Maid reaction: "Don't You Tell ME" and "Hate?", the official LIVE music videos, recently released on their KZbin channel. Both songs were from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale at the Yokohama Arena in November 2023. They're awesome and I feel you will love both of them. The bass/lead guitar "duels" in both songs are what rock and roll should be about.

So this is another side to them. They have some songs from their 2021 album "Unseen World" that are pretty thrashy. They won't have a music video so just stare at the creepy fingers! On their youtube channel under "Releases" there is an "Unseen World" playlist with songs like track 5 *"I still seek revenge."* and track 6 *"H-G-K"* or maybe track 11 本懐 ("Ambition"). They tend to have "triumphant" sounding choruses and I think it's just what they prefer. I personally like the proggier stuff and I think track 10 *"Giovanni"* is a masterpiece. I think I've already mentioned the "live stream" two-fer of *"Manners / Black Hole."* Most fans will encourage you to watch "live" over "music video" but frankly they're both pretty good. The music video for 輪廻 *("Reincarnation" or "Rinne")* (pronounced "ree neh") is lo-fi Super-8 film. I'm not sure they've ever done djent but watch them make me eat my words with the next album! It is interesting how many reactors start changing the way they listen to music because of Band-Maid. I'm not saying you'll be one of them, but they seem to be artists who can use acrylics as well as pastels and make it all really good. They love contrast. Even with this one, the sweet clean section that follows that bass -> guitar section is contrast. They build right back to the final chorus. They seem to like that sort of thing. A philosophy, like you can't have a valley without a hill, and you can't have loud without quiet. Finally, the lyrics for *"Hate?"* are absolute venom. It's a bit more on the "rock" side but you might like it just for that! I'm looking forward to your next one!

They just dropped Hate live which will melt your face and their instrumental masterpiece From now on official video will show you what level.they are on. Their style is a mad mixture of hard rock, metal thrash, grunge and pop. They are a genre unto themselves. That's why so many older dudes love them because they harken back to the 80's and 90's hard rock/metal scene. They are a phenomenal band 🤘
@greylocke10010 ай бұрын
The Ladies refer to themselves as "Hard Rock", although they do incorporate many, many, many other genres of music into their sound. From Jazz, R&B, Classic Rock, Metal, Pop, Punk and even Classical music. All of them are just ingredients that the Ladies incorporate into their music to give us the best songs they can. The Ladies have defined what is basically their own genre. A Bass Forward, Hard Rocking style incorporating multiple genres, many times in the same song, to give a cohesive whole that IS the Band-Maid sound. This was recorded in a warehouse in the outskirts of Tokyo, that has been used for other productions. If you REALLY want your mind blown, check out one of their oldest songs that was written by and arranged by the Ladies. Go to their channel, click on "Releases", then scroll down to "YOLO", when the playlist loads, click on "Unfair Game" Trust me, you will have your mind blown again.

Great reaction and we call ourselves "maidiacs", but the band calls us "Masters and Princesses" since they are a band of maids serving up the best 120 course meal of rock in the world. Shambles is the 2rd season closing song for a Netflix anime series "Kengan Ashura", a brutal fight anime, starting on Sept. 21st. It was written (music and lyrics) to match the anime theme.

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘Thx, Jaso!
@Parker--10 ай бұрын
Highly suggest doing Hate Live or Domination Live if you want heavy. Don't You Tell Me is more pop-rock and unfortunately the live version doesn't mix in the crowd vocals so it sounds like a chunk of the chorus is missing. You will have more fun with Hate or Domination live. "Rinne" (Reincarnation) is also what I would call thrash metal (MV even has a late 80's/early 90's camera motif) Band-Maid are masters of whatever combination of sub-genres they decide to take on for that song.
@billmcleangunsmith10 ай бұрын
Many of the Japanese bands have mastered the art of mixing genres. It is not uncommon to hear pop, rock, metal, metal core, and rap in the same song. You find yourself thinking, "This shouldn't work. But it does." "It shouldn't sound so good. But it does."
@JasoDip10 ай бұрын
Great explanation, it just works somehow and sounds great
@Kevin605910 ай бұрын
Believe me when I say it'll take at least 20 songs before you really know their sound and even then you won't. Play everything and they do it fantastically. They may touch on three or four genres in a single song. They do that often.

If it's more actual Metal sounding B-M you want then look no further than their MV of "RINNE". It's about a serial killer who films his victims with an 8mm camera in the belief that he can capture the moment on film that their souls leave their bodies. Good wholesome fare.🙂

There is an Official LIVE Video for 'Shamble' but I prefer the OMV. But the LIVE's not bad and they have clips from the Netflix anime that it was commissioned for playing on the big screen behind them. The video for this was a day and night shoot in a warehouse in the dead of winter. The only time the girls were warm was the scene with the flames because while the cameras were rolling they couldn't wear their coats. But if you think BAND-MAID can't do Metal you should check out some of their more Metal influenced songs like, 'Black Hole', 'Different' and ;Rinne' which is very Thrashy. That's one that I prefer the OMV for, though it's very grainy because it was shot on 8mm film just like the Japanese Horror Movie that it gets it's name from. Just tell us which genres you prefer, there's a BAND-MAID song for that. Punk, Funk, Power Pop, Jazz and Metal. They even have soft acoustic ballads and Japanese Traditional influenced stuff. They are the shapeshifting chimera of music!
