An absolute favorite of mine. Always has been. Especially when you know the role of the Dragon in Japanese Mythology & Folklore. All those images are why the Dragon cries.

Always loved the song, since day one. Famous producer Tony Visconti (Bowie, T Rex, Thin Lizzy, Stranglers, Moody Blues and TONS of others!) contacted them to produce a song and Saiki and Miku went to NYC to record their vocals in the same studio Bowie recorded his last album. Visconti praised them a lot and has been a real friend of the band since that. Many people pretend to dislike the song, but I think their main problem is with the MV.

The 10 year anniversary tour finale at Yokohama Arena was epic. 3.5 hours and 33 songs. Apparently, 3 members of Lovebites were in the crowd. Asami, Midori, and Haruna.

Tom Kenney wrote the lyrics. He told Tony Visconti about the band, and Visconti contacted them about making a track for the Conqueror album. Rock music from the '60s and '70s often dealt with uncomfortable realities - war, drugs, racism. Read the lyrics to "War Pigs." Tony saw them in NYC in 2019 and again in 2022. The last time he brought his one-of-a-kind and basically priceless Tony Zemaitis 12-string metal-front guitar that they (meaning Kanami) played on during their sound check and Miku brought out to show the audience during one of her MC times.

I think this is a great track, its hard to believe why this track has not recieved higher acclaim. I understand it is hard to standout against such a vast catalog of established greatness. I feel it will recieve a greater appreciation as time passes.

Some people don’t like this song and/or really dislike the video. The song was produced by the band and Tony Visconti (who worked with Bowie among others). The lyrics are by someone in his camp, but the musical arrangement was by Kanami and the band. Don’t know who produced the video. Anyway it’s quite different, maybe too “western” for some, but I think it’s awesome nonetheless. The ladies loved working with Visconti, too, so good enough for them-more than good enough for me!

Compression depression is what it is. No wonder that Dragon was crying.😢

@@GaryHolloway-810 Nah, that’s not the main reason for most. Besides the entire Conqueror album suffers from that. Maybe the whole discography to some degree… we need the Steven Wilson treatment.

Two things about this song. It's the only song not produced in Japan, and it's the only all English song Band-Maid has done. For the life of me, I can't remember the producer's name, Tony something, but they recorded this in NYC. 😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

This is a rather surprisingly controversial song. Think it might have more to do with the video than the music, tho? As a blues based classic rock fan, I ♥ it! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, Puzzle (live) & No God (live)

If you have the opportunity to watch the Live version of this song from the February 14th 2020 Performance at Line Cube Shibuya, I think you will enjoy the song much more. Number one the sound is much better, Miku's vocals are clearer, and both Miku's and Kanami's guitars are higher up in the mix, although Kanami is still somewhat low in the total mix, she is higher than in the studio release. Add in the visuals they use in the concert with a back projection drop screen makes it a very nice performance.

I love this song, it is their only all English song. Let's be clear most rock bands now days are into death, fire, destruction. But the Maids go hard on truth and everybody has a problem. Go back to sleep sheep

Yeah, this is a rough one. Shows you how brave they are to do this. To be Japanese and show so much WW2 footage alone shows you they wanted to send an important but uncomfortable message.

@@TRMReacts62812 This song and video are a point of contention with Maidiacs. A little background, this song was co-produced by Tony Visconti, and he flew Miku and Saiki to New York to record the vocals. Tony is a big fan and Band-Maid ambassador. Not sure if he had any input on the video. There is a live version out there, and one can enjoy the song a bit more on its musical merits there.

@@bandmaidfanATL I am one of those who prefer the LCS live version, as I find the MV's sound is muted to my ears. I still enjoy it, but I prefer the LCS Live version the best.
