And you've barely scratched the surface on the number of excellent songs they have. There's a number of slower tempo songs that you might enjoy. DAYDREAMING,PAGE,SMILE, ABOUT US, PUZZLE (Acoustic) to name a few.

Great reaction. Tony Visconti, long time American record producer known for working with artists such as David Bowie, T-Rex, Thin Lizzy, etc. approached Band-Maid and asked to let him produce one track with them. At first the girls thought they were being pranked but they wound up working with him on this track. Both Miku and Saiki went to Tony's NYC studio to record the vocals. Kanami, Misa, Akane worked out the musical arrangement remotely with him. Here's an excerpt from an Interview: On working with BAND-MAID, Tony comments, "I love the originality of BAND-MAID. It was like a dream come true to meet them. During recording SAIKI and MIKU sang from eight-hours straight. I don't know many artists with that kind of stamina, I was taken back by their professionalism. They definitely met my expectations." A tweet from Tony after seeing them LIVE in NYC: BAND-MAID!!!! You've heard of J-Pop. They are J-Prog Rock! They shred! Saw them last night. They play #HOB Dallas tonight and #Echoplex Los Angeles 9/30 and 10/1. Seeing is believing. I would recommend Bubble for your next reaction. The song was written for a Japanese TV show but the MV was shot as a tribute to Freddie Mercury, recreating lots of scenes from the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.

From my point of view, a song that is unjustly criticized and receives too little attention. I absolutely agree with your comments about the complexity of their songs, which may not be noticed in the first place, and that they express emotions musically rather than through body language, at least on serious or intimate topics. I haven't really thought about the latter myself until now, but it actually makes perfect sense. A very interesting and I think important thought, for which I can only thank you. And of course for this video in general. Best greetings from Germany! _____________________ 【 _Our rock never dies ever. Forever!_ 】- from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 🕊️

This was produced in New York, by the producer who did David Bowie and Marc Bolan records in the 70's. yeah , so it has a retro yet new sound because the girls style. Did not immediately love this , but now I do. As you say a lot going on underneath, esp drums and the bass has filthy groove goin on.

Remarkably, Saiki sings the entire song in English after she studied hard on how the lyrics were phonetically pronounced. Difficult for anyone to sing well, let alone a non-native speaker, but she pulled it off admirably. Miku's stellar backing vocals blended beautifully resulting in the combined vocals being smooth and magical. The extremely talented instrumentalists Misa, Akane and Kanami also worked their magic to produce a song that is deep, meaningful and with a lot of soul. Band-Maid is definitely one of the best, if not the best, band currently performing today.

You are very right about Band-Maid. At first glance, their music isn't really complex, but it is dense with details which are easy to overlook. It makes their songs very re-listenable, because there is always stuff to discover. I definitely have a better feel of your preferences, and the absolute no-brainer of a suggestion is "Flying High". Has a very similar old groove as "The Dragon Cries". Unfortunately no official MV. For official MV, I would recommend these: Play Live - Groovy jam session. Very play-ful (haha) song. Bubble - A different kind of groove. Not so deep as Manners or The Dragon Cries, but rather a bit faster and light hearted. Daydreaming - A style from BM which you haven't heard yet, ballad. This song is in my top 3 🙂

Good suggestions! I'm interested to see if he likes Play. You are right...it does play out like a jam session. Agree he would like Flying High. Among othe non MV songs I think Take Me Higher, Turn Me On and Fate might be to his liking.

Not every Maidiac likes this song but I do. The live version is even better. I think you like classic Band-Maid. PLAY-LIVE or REAL EXISTENSE-LIVE. Try the MV's Bubble, Blooming, Yolo, Alone. Then for a little power ballad try Daydreaming. Glad your enjoying Band-Maid because they are Awesome and Fun. Peace.

@@russellpotter7294 I love TDC as a song & live it's awesome. The over compression on the studio version creates a constant wall of noise, some people hear it, others don't because of the frequency. Even tho the instrument parts were recorded before Miku & Saiki recorded their vocals in the States with Tony Visconti i don't know if he recommended how he wanted the tone to sound like. I don't dislike the song, just this version :)

Dragons, a poignant commentary of the sad, self-inflicted current state of the world, is a great plunge into the bluesy rock style given to us by Hendrix and others. Heard live (and without the overly compressed mix), the song jumps from the souls of the members and into our minds as a warning. Let's all heed that warning and support our home planet!

This is the song that Tony Visconti produced. From Wikipedia " His first hit single was T. Rex's "Ride a White Swan" in 1970, the first of many hits in collaboration with Marc Bolan. Visconti's lengthiest involvement was with David Bowie: intermittently from the production and arrangement of Bowie's 1968 single "In the Heat of the Morning" / "London Bye Ta-Ta" to the 2016 release Blackstar"

Ok so I finish to watch your B-M reaction (I hear about you on the discord of another music react (nice) guy). Like I said on the Manners/Black Hole reaction, I'm a maidiacs. When I discover B-M by accident (waiting a geek video game TV show on a channel who don't exist anymore, and before this show there was the show call J-TOP, where they show a lot of J-Music, who French people loved (I'm french xD), they as a lot of J-Pop Idol things. that was a little painful but I really didn't want to miss my TV show after this one 🤣🤣🤣. And one of this days, when I was chilling on my computer with TV in the back waiting my show, between to Idols thing, after 15-20 years of borringness of occidental rock/metal music (since 2000, exept few too rare OFU like it's all sound crap, or same thing as another old mythic bands, and if I want to ear the sound of an old mythic band, I listen the mythic band, not the cheap copy (or tribute)). So after 15-20 of music borringness, between two idols MV, I hear this sound who kept my attention, I turne my head on the TV, I did not understand what I saw and hear, (the maids-outfit haha) but that was damn good, and sound familiar but totaly new at the same time (I think that was "REAL EXISTANCE" or "the non-fiction days". I passed few hours later to find the name of this BAND on the forum of the TV channel, to listen more. I really enjoy it instantly, instant fan, but not maidiacs yet. And it's grow in me every time a listen a song and hear more detail and complexity (even in the earlier stuff when they have not the right to make their own songs). At the beginning I was a little septical for the maid-outfit, I thoughts "yeah another pre-made band by some majors, but this one sound good" and I search the background of the band creation and I saw I can't hardly be more wrong about that "pre-made" thoughts. I think your ears and brain take their time (I don't say that in a mean way at all, some bands for some people takes time) but I really think you start to get it. And it's cool (and otherwise it's OK too, we can't love everything). For thrill it's by far the one I like the less so I understand you, but for a first "rock/hard rock" song it's an OK one. (the very first album, who I enjoy too, was more "pop-rock/pop-punk" than the second where "thrill" is. For the more chaotic you don't connect, I think know all what they made before this turn helps to enjoy it. In my case I least, I don't think I'd like this crazy chaotics songs whithout that (I'm not really like to chaotics songs normally xD) so I can understand you too on this one ^^ For me this band save my borred music soul. They eat all what we (occident) do since jazz/blues to hard-rock/metal, digest them, and mix them with our own touch. That's why that's sound familiar but fresh and new at the same time, and I love it. (Nemophila start to do the same thing for me on the "metal-side) And for me today, this is the best actual Rock/Hard-Rock band, even may be not just actual. (And I'm a big fan of AC/DC, Metallica, Led Zepp, GNR, Green Day, kinds of things, and I really like blues and some jazz too). See a Metallica live in real was my top 1 music dreams since I was 12-14 years old, and I'm 38 know, I haven't seem them yet sadly, but today, you ask me too choose between Metallica on a big french scene, or B-M on little french place.... I'll choose B-M without hesitation. I don't remember why I said all that shit in the first place 🤣, but with the things you seems to like of them, if you go deeper in earlier good stuff (even some before they wrote themself their stuff) if you come back on the one you did not like that much, that can be different after that. B-M discovering, is a journey where when you find the songs who make fall in this rabbit hole, it might be interresting to going back and may be do it more in a chronological way. To hear how they grown up. But if you want some recommandation, more pure rock vibes, you have "FREEDOM", and my fav song is "Blooming" (I think this is the one who make pass from fan to maidiacs xD). And for your "negative" comments, I'm a pretty "touchy" maidiacs and get crazy in my head pretty quick when I hear some bad comments, and yours don't bother me at all, they are constructive and honest ans respectful, so screw the crazy "toxic fans" and do what you want to do !! Take care :) PS : Sorry if my english writting is clumsy, It's not my bith language xD

The song gets more than its fair share of dislike. Many don't like the video. Many dislike the apparent influence of a western producer who binned the original lyrics, and changed the song somewhat. Many also dislike the over-compressed mixing which can make it sound really harsh.

@@BaldHeadedMETAL I think the producer felt a song all in English might do better. The producer was Tony Visconti, who asked to do a song with them. The band said they got a fair bit out of that, gave them some new ideas etc. I can imagine the song "Manners" was partly due to that influence.

Dude, you are totally barking up the wrong tree. This is the song that is the least Band-Maid. It was an attempt to approach the western taste and it failed. Just loading it with a political theme doesn't fit at all with the band as it usually presents itself. The musicians seem inhibited and untrustworthy. This is not Band-Maid and hopefully they will not do something like this again. Just the blur over Saiki's face. Nasty! And the title "The Dragon Cries". That's such a blatant cliché and that's exactly what the band usually wants to break.

I have the benefit of something you. I longer have with this band and that’s ignorance is bliss. All I got to judge this music with is my two ears and no background knowledge and based on that I liked this song and I might be barking up the wrong tree but it’s my tree. Where one hates or dislikes it another enjoys it right? That being said I also get where you coming from but again I have much less stake in this so I can casually enjoy it where a hardcore fan might be disgusted
