You're welcome. I requested it because that performance spotlights each member individually, and in pairs (bass/drums in intro), (lead vocals/backing vocals throughout), (lead guitar/bass call and response), (left ear guitar/right ear guitar during solo). I agree that song captures Miku's talents both as a vocalist and guitarist. And, that song serves as a demo reel for MISA and Kanami, both in the sick intro and later during their epic segment which I refer to as "tapping and slapping".

@@Rabbi_Rabbs "Tapping & Slapping" what a perfect title for that section! And what a great bit of tapping and slapping it is. You've got my imagination going now. There are a number of Band-Maid videos that have similar sections in them. A person that has the equipment and know how (I do not), could edit together cuts from different videos. They could present a "Best Of Band-Maid's Tapping & Slapping". I think it would be a very worthwhile effort and be lots of fun to watch. Rabbs, I appreciate your eye for detail and being able to convey it to Wave. Then, of course, Wave has subject and fodder for another one of his great videos. I love you both! I recently got a strike for a video comparing (side by side) NO GOD (Official live video) with NO GOD (live May 10), viewport redone to cover the edges on all sides of the thumbnails and sound of both footage synced (one on top of the other). I wanted to show how perfect their performances are. It was uploaded on September 6. ContentID didn't object, it was manually reported recently by "Platinum Passport Ltd." The reason given was: "Online Okuji Feb. 11", where it was simply a video from the official BM channel (AI also detected the official video). I'd sooner expect the claim to be for 10 May live footage, which was simultaneously playing, but rather unusable because 1) it was cropped, and 2) the audio tracks overlapped one another.

When I saw and met them in LA, I talked with their Site Manager Horiuchiv, the guy on MISA's side (who stands only about 5 foot tall, BTW).Their guitar tech Daisuke Kondo, stands stage left, on Kanami's side (and I believe also builds their incredible pedal setups). On that tour I think they had 5-6 roadies, including a sound (mixer) & guitar techs and a women who might have been like their personal assistant or something. They're all key to the success of their tours & performances. So yeah, a big shoutout 💥 goes to their office and road staff, studio techs, management / label people and mentors. It kinda takes a village, doesn't it? -- and a large bank account to support all those people year 'round. I'll bet the Maid's income is lower than one would think for being such incredible rock stars. So we must all support them the best we can.

Great reaction my friend, I am an old boomer, passionate about all kinds of music, as a boy, I played in a progressive rock band, my brother is now a great drummer and also a graduate teacher at the Milan Conservatory. In my life, I have seen hundreds of concerts by the most incredible bands from the 70s onwards. I have seen the Band-Maid in concert not once but three times. I can tell you that Miku is a great Rhythmic guitar and a great second voice with perfect natural intonation. Any video doesn't do Miku justice, in concert with her super distorted guitar supports many of Kanami's solos. But you can only realize it in concert because for reasons I don't know Miku in the videos she is always low in power. In concert in many songs, Miku kills you with a powerful and very distorted precise rhythm. I could write a Bible about Band-Maids in concert, but I just tell you that they could easily be together with Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and all the others of this caliber, in a new impossible Live Aid. And many would be worried about staying in the shadows.

Akane always has such awesome drum solos (in relation to other drummers). But I especially love how all these girls respect each others talents. Each of them always get their own solos, while the playing of all the other members in the band, tone their part down, yet support each other. I imagine Kanami lays out the groundwork for this and then each of the individual members tweak their parts, run it back past Kanami and then all agree together when it is good enough for their fans, which is the most important aspect for them. Kind of self promoting, but not. They are like puppies who live to serve their Masters (and Princesses).

I am very bad at backing vocals 🙈 Such a shame, to contaminate BAND-MAID music in this way 😖 It was my first attempt at recording a concert, and I could not even guess that my phone would pick me up so clearly and loudly in that mayhem of noise... Man, I could not even hear myself, that's why I was completely out of tune. But my phone *did* hear me... Since then, I never sang along at concerts. I was opening my mouth and singing in my head, but never making any audible sound. Thanks a lot for this reaction! Long-time Maidiacs of course have seen that performance from ZEPP Tokyo a million times already, even before it was finally published on BAND-MAID Prime. It's really great. And it's very nice that they have kept the same arrangements for the entire year 2018, and we've heard the same intros and intermezzos in Europe as well. Another famous extra they have had at ZEPP, was MISA/Kanami battle in Don't you tell ME. Have you watched it already?

I always enjoy watching the Amsterdam video and a few wrong notes don't annoy me much. In Kobe, I tried to show in a funny way, how the older gentlemen can't hit the high notes anymore. I'm quite glad that in Nagoya I preferred to keep my mouth shut except for that one time during "Wonderland" and was far enough away during the other recordings.

@@joki5346 I find it difficult to sing along in tune at the concerts. Maybe because the music is very loud, and it's not easy to hear myself well. I fully share your sentiment about the Japanese audience: how do they manage to sing so well together with the band, is amazing.

@@joki5346 Thank God, in Hamburg (and at Bochum and Paris as well) I did not try to sing 😂 I was shouting at times, but only the things which did not require any particular harmonies. Like Moe Moe Kyun Kyun 🤩 You are absolutely right about the audience singing along. At the concert itself, it does not really matter, because the music is too loud anyway. Well, you have noticed it in Hamburg, that somebody was singing false notes, but I don't remember anything like that. BAND-MAID was drowning it all 😉 Unfortunately, the recordings capture those sounds from the audience much better than our ears. We just have to remember it, and be careful, that's it. I should say that even professional singers sometimes hit the wrong notes. That's actually the difference between good singers and bad singers. I know it's often a problem of the monitors, but Saiki, for example, never hits wrong notes, even if her monitor malfunctions. She may lose control of her loudness and timbre, but she still hits the notes perfectly. I recall now that band, Astraea, which was performing before ASTERISM at ROCK or DIE fest on July 12th. The instrumentalists were really good, but the girl on main vocals was just terrible. She was singing completely out of tune most of the time. When Maki Oyama came to the stage, it was like a goddess of harmony descended on Earth. The difference was so stark, it was like if I have awoken from a nightmare. I definitely don't want to be like that girl from Astraea. Besides, I really *know* that I'm singing the wrong notes. If it can't be fixed, then better to be silent...

That song might be Band-Maid's most 1970's type rocker. Maybe somewhere between the sound of Foghat and Aerosmith, two bands that I saw in concert back then. Funny you mentioned "Onset". This "Turn Me On" video and that "Onset" (Part 3 on Band-Maid Prime) were filmed at the same Zepp Tokyo show in 2018. Same night. Also did the amazing power trio in "Don't You Tell Me" that night. What an epic concert, huh? Band-Maid released "Onset" on KZbin in 2020, and if I recall, it replaced "Domination" as the channel's featured video, so that's why you got confused. But, you'll find reaction videos to "Onset" dated back in 2019. Great catch about the 2 songs' bass solos sharing the same drum beat. I heard both recordings in my car a million times and never would've noticed that. And, that's why I support your channel. One thing I had already noticed tho that "Onset" and "Turn Me On" share is that Akane finishes each's solos section with a quick couple of bars on her own, but not with a full-length solo like in "Domination" or "Freedom" which she made famous two years later at Shibuya.

I always perceived Turn Me On as a tribute to Metallica. It's so similar to the songs from Wired To Self-Destruct! Not to the point of almost direct quotation, like with Take Me Higher and Nickelbacks's Animals, but very heavy influence nevertheless.

@@VladimirChupin I don't think Hardwired… to Self-Destruct (2016) is an influence, it is a very new album and some of its singles where released in late 2017, only some months before World Domination (2018) was released As of the Take Me Higher, the riff is so generic and follows an already common rhythm in early hard rock, the song as a whole is nothing like Animals so I don't think it was an influence either, especially since Kanami herself said it was influenced by older songs

@@jonasw3945 That Metallica album has virtually coincided with the appearance of Turn Me On. And I remember I immediately thought about it the moment I heard that BAND-MAID song for the first time. Regarding Take Me Higher, I still believe it's BAND-MAID's nod towards Nickelback, who are immensely popular worldwide, and also in Japan. It's really like a short quote, even Akane reproduces that drum pattern and the hi-hat beat from Animals. But they immediately go into something completely different, of course. They keep the riff, but the vocal melody does not resemble Animals in any way, and of course, the guitar solos are nothing what Nickelback could ever possibly play.

I think I already told at your "Onset" reaction that I passed a hairdresser in Amsterdam on the walk to the Melkweg, where the said Word was fatefully emblazoned on the big window and I knew I had done everything right. If you have a VIP ticket, things get even more exciting and as you said, it's a bit surreal to see these delicate personalities in real sitting at the table, how they write their autographs with a smile on your poster and the "big boys" (Kobato's words) standing dutifully in line to receive the bonus saying friendly "arigato" after they have stocked up with some merchandise.
