As pretty as always. But how sweet is Akane's voice with the backing vocals. Have a close listen. Perfect. We don't get to hear her enough.

HGK was a nice surprise because I was not expecting them to play an acoustic version. There were a few others that caught me off guard that one was possibly my favorite from the entire session. I agree with you about Misa. She is impossible to ignore. She stands out so much and is such a huge component of their sound.

Sayonakidori- Song based on Romeo and Juliet. Title is Nightingale, again a Romeo and Juliet reference. Nice reaction. Thanks. Saiki- Lead Vocals, Kanami- Lead Guitar, Miku- Vocals/Guitar, Misa- Bass and Akane- Drums (with cluster sticks/hot rods, for muting).

For many the electric version of Sayonakidori has become a highlight in their live shows and it may be me but I think that Miku has felt the appreciation she gets from the audiences when she perfoms it and as a result it's increased in passion with every performance.

Dude, that is pretty cool to know! To have a song that is so personal to you and the crowd loves it? That must be an amazing feeling!

Yep. Gotta agree with all that after seeing her clear joy at the USA and Japan gigs recently.

You’ll get the title of H-G-K when you hear the electric version. It’s one of their more chaotic pieces.

Thanks for the shout out. Glad I could be of some help. Excellent triple acoustic bill! ‘Sayonakidori’ means ‘Nightingale’ as you clearly know but it translates very beautifully as SA (small) YO (night) NAKI (singing) DORI (bird). For the acoustic concert, the ladies wore their own clothes for once and, as it was xmas, they chose reindeer beige and father xmas red as their colour scheme. The3y mixed it up throughout the gig, playing all together as usual and in groups of two and three also. Kanami, the master composer, worked as hard as always to make these normally electric songs into acoustic versions. Not sure why MISA went for the electric bass but she makes it as subtle as an acoustic one, especially on Sayonakidori. Akane used rods (layered flat wood) instead of sticks on her drums. Thanks for this triple treat! Keep on trucking!

Wow, H-G-K! actually, this is my first time listening to the acoustic version because I love the original version so much. The original version is one of the craziest and coolest they've ever created. It's even hard to notice what's they're doing with just one listen. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

One of the things that I think fans loved a lot about this acoustic concert is that we got to hear everyone sing, Akane backing vocals on Sayonakidori, Kanami with the songs as a duo with Saiki and the closer Page when they all sang harmonies which sounded beautiful.

As individuals they could walk into any band or go solo. Thank goodness that some of the band may suffer from lack of confidence. This means we have one of the finest collective of musicians I have ever had the joy to listen to and watch. I am astonished just how good they are in everything they do and work at.

Miku is the main lyricist, she is highly respected for her lyrics in Japan. Some Western Barbarians are now checking the lyrics and realizing how deep and good they are. Saiki is now more involved with the writing of the lyrics and currently has 3 songs she wrote the lyrics for. This concert just underlined just how talented they actually are. FYI, other than some minor help from Kanami, Miku did all the arranging for "Sayonakidori".

Thank you by the way! About the No God song, if I can be completely honest with you (and I'm sure that I will probably get some dislikes and unsubscribes for saying this), I do believe in God and the name of the song kind of makes me want to put that one last. I understand that about 1% of Japan actually does believe in God, but the name of the song kind of wants me to do it last just for that reason. I mean, unless it has some kind of alternative message. I like BAND-MAID's and I'm digging them so far! If they have a music video for it I will do all three for my last video for BAND-MAID! Thank you for the suggestion, and I hope I don't lose you as a subscriber!

@@mtreactions as a Christian & believer myself I feel once you react to No God, you will be pleasantly surprised with the lyrics. I believe the story, I still believe that, Adam and Eve surely, Loved until beyond the end of their days, The world continues Don't look away even if it seems foolish, This too is no lie, For it is your voice, Lyrics by Miku Kabato

@@mtreactions To be honest, I haven't fathomed a definitive song meaning from the lyric translations yet. A reviewer of the album said this: "There were songs I loved instantly, such as No God (for anyone put off by the name, the lyrics are about something else entirely)". My best interpretation is to say dont rely on prayers alone...action not innaction...to make things happen. By 'things' I guess I mean love and relationships. I only glanced at the lyrics so bow to other's better explanation.

@@mtreactions Miku, rhythm guitarist/vocals, writes all the lyrics. Her last name, Kobato, means "small pigeon" in Japanese. Therefore, she identifies as a pigeon/dove. She even incorporates the word "po" into all her speech. "Po" is the sound a pigeon makes in Japanese. Since she believes she is a small pigeon, writes all the lyrics, including ones about smart munitions, she will be a danger to all statues everywhere, because we all know what pigeons do to statues. Ok, clearly my dumb joke has gotten out of hand. You'll have to watch a BAND-MAID interview to see how weird and cute she is. I recommend the Music Gold Rush interview.
