Shannon. The Royal Anglian Soldiers were attending a service in St. Sepulchres church immediately at the end of the parade.

The short piece of music at 6.48 is called "The point of war" and is used as a salute to the regimental colours just before they are marched off parade. It is a very ancient signal originally beaten by fifes and drums. In battle the drummers would beat this signal as a rallying call if the colours were threatened .

Ryan Ellison, for your information see ........ www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/royal-anglian-regiment-soldiers-parade-through-northampton-1-7503526 There was a big turn-out from the people in Northampton to support and show appreciation to a group of dedicated and brave soldiers.

I think you will find the name of this is actually "the points of war" played prior to doubling the colours off parade . it was actually an alert signal in the 18th century whereby the drums and fifes would beat it urgently to signal the colours were in danger of attack
@user-oo2qi6mv2k8 жыл бұрын
The Regiment is known as "The Poachers" so presume the chap you refer to is a regimental mascot. Is there anyone out there from the regiment itself who can add anything to my guess?
