You are correct about the message. As people have already mentioned the Green Serpent is an Eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. Tatiana has posted about her sobriety as well as giving interviews about it. I think you would really like Tatiana's latest collaboration with Spiritbox. Great reaction as always.

Hey Bob, thanks for coming back to Jinjer. Yes, you are correct about the alcohol. Tatiana has been sober for about 2 years now. From what I've heard, green serpent is an eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. Roman ,Eugene , and Vlad are all awesome. Vlad does have jazz in his background, combined with the metalcore, prog, djent, and groove, and yeah you get what you said is totally different stuff and making it fit together. 4th single from the upcoming 5th album, Duel. My favorite of the 4 is still "Someone's Daughter", but this is right there with it. The other 2 single you haven't done are "Rogue" (all harsh vocals) and "Kafka".

Hey Chris thanks for clearing that up. I’m surprised I was close on that since a lot of times lyrics just aren’t my thing unless it’s really clear. Probably too many years of being around loud band sounds. 😂

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂 Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance)

A Russian idiom has the green serpent representing alcohol (maybe vodka specifically), and being bitten by the green serpent representing alcoholism. Tatiana has been sober for about 2 years, so this song is about her personal struggle. This is some of my favourite vocal melodic composition from Tati, & I love her extensive use of her *gorgeous* head voice to hit highs in this piece, a part of her vocal repertoire that we've heard very little of before now. The section with the combined guitar & bass tapping with great tom drum groove is incredible, & I love the Opethy outro. Even the stripped down, simple chuggy riffs in the last two heavy sections are a welcome addition, as Jinjer fans usually have to struggle to head bang to Jinjer's weird rhythms & unusual, shifting time signatures (which I also love, of course). This is a *great,* *beautiful* song, an instant Jinjer classic, IMO.

Speaking of jazz. They did do two songs for the beginning and the end of their album King of Everything which both have the same lyrics but have two completely different styles. Those are Prologue and Beggars Dance. Beggars Dance is very jazzy.

Yes, a reaction to Prelude and Begger's Dance would be great.

@@bobcieslinski Both songs are very short (just over 2 minutes), so they make a fantastic double-feature reaction!

Another reactor, the key of geebz, described Jinjer as "aggressive jazz musicans".

I wouldn't disagree with that statement. There is a reason I'm drawn to them.
