@@Myrrath991 Fucking epic show...was in the crowd at the same venue...was really pleasantly surprised by Sumo Cyco too actually, really nice, interactive kind of atmosphere the singer pulled off...Jinjer though was just unreal...
@Myrrath9915 жыл бұрын
@@andrewhussey4538 Totally agree. Although honestly I really could have done without The Browning. All their shit sounded exactly the same, even though the guy said multiple song names. Kinda comical really. Just having Sumo Cyco and Jinjer would have been a perfect show. Did Tati and the guys seem a little off to you? Don't get me wrong they were insane and I loved it. But they seemed to be lacking some energy, and Tati seemed to be uncomfortable with her voice, always rubbing her throat like it's sore or in pain. I'm just chalking it up to an insane tour schedule and that they're no doubt exhausted, I hope she's not pushing it too hard and hurting herself.
@andrewhussey45385 жыл бұрын
@@Myrrath991 I saw he coughing here and there, my guess? Cold...Which is honestly a real testament to her skill level, the odd thing is she seemed less comfortable with the cleans, I would see her off coughing a bit. That being said, she nailed it, takes a lot of skill. Should be noted, I just got home from Toronto this afternoon and I'm finding myself congested and with a sore throat, so I wonder if something is going around there in Toronto. As someone who's had to play a show with laryngitis, kudos to her, she held it off just great if that's the case. I'm also unsure on our elevation, I sae a Dresden Dolls behind the scene in which they talk how hard it can be at higher elevations to be able to catch breath. Could be any one or a mix... And yeah, Browning was...ok...it just felt a bit generic, the other two bands were these unique sounds where they really sounded like I was expecting a KORN cover from them right away. Ran into the singer of Sumo Cyco after the show at the merch table and grabbed a shirt and a couple CD's, made sure I let her know they'd played a hell of a set too...very cool lady, gave me a deal on my stuff because I was buying three things lol.

I just went through this a couple of days ago. Having produced music for 20 years during the 80&90s I had a chance to work with all types of musicians and vocalists but never was able to appreciate or acquire a taste for metal......until now. Within the last two days I've listened to every Jinjer song I could find and although nothing quite struck me like PISCES, I'll never listen to metal with indifference again. The entire band is comprised of magnificently talented musicians but the combination is magical. The only thing I can think of is to say that once in a great while in any genre of entertainment you'll come across a chemistry that creates something really special. Jinjer is to metal what Seinfeld was to situation comedy. Cheers

Just stumbled on this video as watching Jinjer reactions is my new favourite pastime. As an early forties metal fan I was the same as you, I drifted away and lost track in the early 2000s, got more interested in alternative and punk and honestly preferred a lot of older stuff. I can say without doubt Jinjer have become my favourite metal band this year, they do it all, and with Tatiana's vocals they have an edge that just puts them over the top for me. Their musicianship is second to none, they have a ferocity and beauty that compliments her so well. Welcome to the rabbit hole, consider me subscribed. 😁

I saw them live a few weeks back and her low growls in Who Is Gonna Be The One (those aren't her low growls, btw };D> ) shook my whole body... Standing by the speakers might have had something to do with it too haha. Your instinct to watch a live performance is spot on. Who Is Gonna Be The One or Perennial at Wacken are both good next stops. Perennial is newer, more progressive but farly reprsentative of their current work. Who Is Gonna Be The One is older, a more straightforward headbanging protest song, but still awesome in its own right. Great reaction btw. Makes me envy you experiencing this for the first time.

Saw them in Austin, absolutely amazing live!!
@metalhead4x4484 жыл бұрын
Thankfully someone besides me realizes those ultra low growls are not coming from her. You can fucking tell by watching her its not her voice. That is a pre-recorded growl (and probably a guy) dubbed over her higher growls. Testosterone is why men have deeper voices, women don't have much. Watch any of her studio recordings and you can plainly see her growls aren't that low, there's a lot of processing and shit that goes into making her sound like that. Yes, she's a really good vocalist, no she can't growl that fucking low.

One of your fellow Brit youtubers said one word in his reaction to this song that I think describes it best: WICKED! :D If you know anything about the Zodiac sign of Pisces you'll understand why the huge contrast between the verses and the choruses in this song. It was all intentional. Btw, Pisces is Tatiana's sign. Eugene, the bass player, is also Pisces and helped writing the lyrics to this song but 99,9% of the time it's Tatiana who writes them. On their upcoming album, Macro, which will be released on October 25th, Tatiana wrote all the lyrics. : ) As for the band, this is Jinjer Mk6, as of 2016. You'll see different line-ups in some of the videos but we'll address them in each one. Since you mentioned Download, they played there this year. According to the comments, the tent wasn't big enough to hold everyone who went there to see them. :D

I am an old timer such as yourself grew up on 80-'s metal. Not hair bands but Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, real metal. I stopped listening to modern metal years ago as it lost something. I had lost hope that there were no bands that fit that old mold I loved, but over the last year I have discovered three bands and all have female leads....go figure. Jinjer which you just discovered, Unleash the Archers their singer Brittany is also off the charts and their drummer pounds. Then I had always heard of Nightwish but never gave them a listen until I watched then bought their Wacken Open Air concert from 2013. Anything with Floor Jansen is incredible, she is amazing. So this old fart has rediscovered metal and I am happy for it. Try some of those out you won't be disappointed.
