Yeah I’d like to see them spread out a bit more too… maybe some older Godzilla designs. Some other Kaiju. That’d be lovely. Even if it’s only a figure or two a year. Really hope the line just breaks out of its “new Godzilla project only” thing it’s been in since the line began.

The one pet peeve I have about these king series gojis are that most of them have a tail that’s bent almost at a 90o anglejust to accommodate the confines of packaging. Instead of having a more overall curl

That roar at 0:07 is so awesome and those fins at 4:57 10:36 are so awesome. Every about -1.0 Goji is so awesome, especially at this larger size to get a great look at the details.

Love that roar, just WORKS. Really loving the design as the merch continues to roll on out, makes the inevitable repaint and remold party all the less upsetting. Nothing beats a great mold getting new life every some odd months lol

Oh my god that heat ray looks so good! Ive been avoiding pages im normally a part of for spoilers and when i saw an image of this it was only of a part of the tail. And with that i thought that blue was gonna be on the dorals so i originally was like eh ill pass but now that youve shown these Rob im definitely gonna be keeping an eye out for this boi! Absolute beast, indeed! The folded up tail has kinda been a mainstay with Monster King series since Bandai started making them. Safe for the Bandai America reissues. I guess that's why people would prefer the 8 inch releases make a return vs. the MKS. Understandable, as a whole. Would like both lol

I feel the only reason the Monster King Series even exists is just to have the pricer option on store shelves to drive the hype train forward lol Would've been fine with an 8 inch release tagged and likely with a bit more going on. Hopefully Emo Kiryu sells well and they'll do more reissues/retool releases of the older 8 inch figures.

Bandai america making their own Godzilla figures instead of importing the Japanese ones, as they're doing now, was truly a high time for the fandom and hobby. I quite miss it too. To think we almost had Bandai America releases of Shin Godzilla and the Godzilla KOTM cast only to be canceled and have Playmates show up sometime afterwards... what a life.

I recently just acquired that blue rock candy verison of Minus one, I hope it was worth the 65 bucks. I believe they make certain figures exclusives so that they dont sit on shelves and gather dust. Looks good for chunky lizard

Yeah, the King series is hit or miss for me. Generally miss. You mentioned the paint app is standard Bandai (ie. lazy) which stands out even more due to the increased scale. Then due to size/mold considerations I assume, the tail has to be a certain way. This is a problem especially for the Gojis that have really long tails. So Shin loses perhaps his most defining characteristic. I think the only good King series are Godzilla Earth and Monsterverse. Their tails aren't that long so they aren't comprised by the above design decision. Earth has monotone color besides his plates, so no need to worry about paint app. Monsterverse succeeds for the same reasons but surprisingly Bandai painted all of this back fins. The others are just lazy/out of proportion/inferior to their 8/6 inch scale counterparts in detail.

I guess King Series stuff can be categorized as an “acquired taste” of some kind lol. Because yeah… I do wish there was more to them than just size. Anyway. Personally always thought the King Series Shin’s looked better because his tail always kinda of followed him around instead of acting like a basic tail, but that’s just me. Ironically, I think Filius is probably the worst with the loss of detail out of the King Series offerings. But I will agree, his paint scheme was probably the best of the lot so far. Especially so with his Heat Ray variant. Really wished they did a Scarlet Variant of Earth in either Movie Monster Series or King Series Format. Such a shame they cut the Anime Trilogy stuff short. Would’ve loved to see more of those designs.

@@ShinRobjira Eh, there's absolutely no reason to bother with King Series Shin when you can get the Ichibansho for around the same scale and for a similar price. KS Shin has the tail length wrong, the paint is just lazy blotches and the face sculpt is just a blown up version of the 6in version, which doesn't work on a larger model. Ichibansho also comes in OG, atomic and frozen colors. I have both King Series Earths, and yes the heat ray version is improved. I'm just saying the normal is better compared to usual KS. BTW I think the heat ray is an exclusive they did at Japanese 7/11 like a few Monster Hunter models I have.

I was umming and arring about ordering this figure when it was first announced. Come descision day I ordered it from the Godzilla store via Zenmarket, when they were really pushing that "sorry no Zenmarket as a whole counts as one singular customer so if a figure is limited to 3pp we only getting 3" thing expecting to not get it at all, as this figure was limited to ONE per customer. But, I got the notification that it was successfully ordered! After seeing this review, im actually rather exited for it now, maybe more so then the base Bandai MMS version. I'll have to ship it out soon before the christmas back orders haha.

ZenMarket really had a weird period going on... mainly the reason i moved to Buyee. I feel bad for them as it sounded like they got all thrown out of whack for a while after losing employees (something like that). But anyway, THE VINYL BOY. He's great! Even if this line will remain exclusive to new movie/overall project releases with new Godzilla designs, I'd be happy. I'd love it even more if they just decided to start at 1954 and moved down the line with a couple figures a year lol They might not be perfect, but they're great to have regardless! -- Gotta ask though. Monster King Series? or full on 8-inch MMS revival?

Ayyyyy that sandopolis zone theme really kicking it really has to be one of my favorite sonic zone themes and a like look that hair cut looking fresh overall I think this minus one godzilla figure looks good just needed a little more detail time on it and it would of been better but this does good this going to be a crazy godzilla movie it’s like the beginning of godzilla is happening all over again but more terror and deep I can’t wait for this to come out a I am totally going to watch this movie

But this line has always been kinda weird with that sort of stuff lol I guess they rationalize it by production costs and stuff. But regardless, the figure does it's job to drive the hype train ever quicker!

Am i the only person who noticed that the tan colored paint application on his right left cheek is ''not'' on his left cheek? and the tan colored paint application on his left shoulder is far less noticible than on the right shoulder as well. like they painted only one side of him & said, the heck with the rest of the figure. :/ otherwise a fine collector's piece that i got for only $93.00 on ebay! :)

They go for about $50 USD right out the gate, if they're being imported, Import tax is always tacked on to the price no matter what. Tack on shipping costs to an already bigger package and it's kinda painful by the time alls factored in. Basically, bigger figure + box, bigger price lol
