I remember back in college I was bored and went to gamestop. Saw an interesting game called Demon Souls on the shelf and decided to give it a try. While ringing me up, the clerk says "Make sure you hold on to the receipt for when you want to return it in a couple days". He told me he said that because of how difficult the game was. To see how far FromSoftware has come from simple word of mouth, to an epic story as this is admirable. I'm proud of these developers. No tricks or gimmicks, just letting their games speak for themselves.

I love how this is clearly a mix of all their games so far. Demon Souls, Dark Souls ,Bloodborne and Sekiro. You see it in move sets, armor sets, enemy design and the world itself. This will be a very fun game. So excited to see all the new things that will be unique to this game. And as a side note, very happy to still see some very clear inspiration in some of the new armor and enemy designs based on Berserk.

@Titanium Ambience They did do something new with Sekiro just like Oscar said, completely new combat system built on parrying, so you can't say they don't try. They know what they are good at making and its Souls like games, but they are all unique and different, the combat in Bloodborne and the combat in DS3 are very very different but formed on the same very solid foundation, but one encourages a turtling playstyle and one encourages raw aggression, and Sekiro is completely different altogether. So there is definitely variety in the combat from game to game. The combat system is one of the best parts of the game, if it ain't broke dont fix it lol, I absolutely love the combat in Souls like games personally!

Right now every new game is equal to this. An unfinished mess once again - just like with TW Warhammer 3 and every other game. Whats in there looks good but the framedrops and stability issues are INSANE. I got big issues with my PC equal to a GTX 1080 and my friend with a much better PC equal to a 3080 has the exact same issues. Skip and wait for at least a month or enjoy fighting in constant FPS drops.

Now let's look at CDPR: only done 3 Witcher games, all of which had buggy launches that took at least a year to fix and only one of those games people ever gave a damn about, Witcher 3. Which also had a buggy launch everyone seems to forget about. Elden Ring is similar to previous games FromSoft has made but expanded upon, CP77 was a completely new genre in which CDPR had ZERO experience in. Yeah, what "we" thought. I especially love how a lot of the armor sets are designed based on their real life counterparts, from crusaders in tabards and chainmail to samurai in full on lamellar armor. Hell, the knight at 2:39 has a codpiece too! Historical knights would always make sure to protect their family jewels in combat just like football players do, but you always see developers ignore that because they're too afraid of adding them to their game because it would detract from their artistic design or would be too embarrassing to implement. This is one of the reasons why I love Fromsoft so much, they always have such a keen eye for detail and take the time and effort to incorporate things like this, even if it's something minor. That thought and consideration for the functionality and authenticity of the game's armor sets ultimately makes sure that each and every set looks unique and distinct. It's quite a change of pace from all the bikini armor and the "rule of cool" armor sets that've become bog standard in generic fantasy RPGs in the last 20 years.

I'm over 90 hours now with a level 92 character and I still haven't gotten to the biggest region yet lol. I'd say I'm only 60% through the story and probably 40% of the whole game. I got so hooked into coop and character builds and helping other players beat tough bosses. This game has it all into one package. The PVE is just enormously mind boggling but not overwhelming because every new progression is always thrilling and adventure filled. It's as if you're playing the scenes of fantasy books that you've read or art books or illustrations or manga( Berserk!) The environment and atmosphere when going into new territory is just pure single player bliss. But the coop and pvp is what sealed the deal for it to be my most favorite game of ALL time! That's right, this game is hands down the best video game experience I've ever had in my life lol. I am lucky to have experienced this game because in my opinion it's of of those once in a lifetime kind of game. That is all. This is from someone who has never even played darks souls and just played a bit of Sekiro btw lol.

Also, dark souls was pretty difficult so I looked at videos because without watching them you miss alot of hidden stuff and like what exactly to upgrade. @@alexblain594 The sheer feeling of playing this game blind and not knowing what to do next was the best part about it in my opinion. About 75% of my playtime was just me trying to go to places where I thought looked interesting. It wasn't until later in the game did I start to look up how to follow the story and progression. One advice I can give you is to follow the light pointing on your grace point(bonfire). That usually leads to story progression or major discovery. Don't worry about losing runes because that's what I did and it really messes up the fun. Because later in the game the enemies you fight will drop so much runes that it's quite trivial trying to farm runes in your beginning playthrough. Also don't worry about what class you want to spec to because you are allowed to respec points later in the game. Lastly, just play and let your curiosity lead you and try to play other builds even if that's not your cup of tea. It will surprise you how powerful some things are in this game. Your first playthrough of this game is unforgettable! Good luck.

As I work a lot nowadays, I find very little time for games. In addition, I have very little interest in new games because most games these days are weak, plain and mindless. This feels like the story, gameplay, difficulty and beautiful design is actually worth my time. I love that From Software has continued to grow and will no doubt secure an entirely new group of fans with this epic masterpiece. I'm old school born in 1981 and From Software brought something to the gaming scene that had not been seen since the brutal days of the NES & that is challenging games that do not know the meaning of the word mercy. Games that will beat the dogshit out of you until either you rage quit and give up for life (or return with the game genie to even have a chance) or you get so fed up with being obliterated time after time that eventually you learn the game mechanics and become the one doing the ass kicking. Gsmrs so ridiculously hard at first that every little bit of progress made filled you with that sense of accomplishment because you earned it the hard way. Elex is another hidden gem I discovered a few years ago that reminded me of the old NES days where the game just annihilated you without a shred of mercy but once you gained some levels you could bring the fight to the enemy for a change and after leveling up further, eventually you become close to a god level character and it is just an amazing game from a small studio in Germany with like 20 people. I had never played Bloodborne in my life but I am on it now and what can I say but it is the Adventures of Bayou Billy or Battletoads for the PS4 in terms of difficulty but it is so great and definitely not for the casuals. I can't wait to play this game I know it will be amazing and will be talked about for years to come

But they aren't growing. They make the exact same mistakes as usual - bad PC controls and only xbox controls showing for a PC game. They absolutely dont learn. Dark Souls 3 also was a disaster if you wanna do more than spamm R1 against cool looking bosses (no mechanics and far less variety) But I wouldn't complain about something like that, its simply not playable right now. The framedrops and stability issues are very huge and I have it with a GTX 1080 as well as my friend with a RTX 3080 so its not a hardware problem. Also alot of other people have the same problem if you check Steam reviews. Its insane they had the guts to give us this mess. Just keep it in development for 1-3 months more and fine tune it instead of making some dumb af patch roadmap like some early access title.

@@Colesign The fact that such a thing is even possible is a tribute to how much effort Fromsoft puts into packing the game full of such a variety of amazingly diverse pieces of equipment. They've really done their research and it shows: from the samurai, to the crusaders, and even the codpieces! It's kinda crazy how much real world stuff they've managed to implement in the game!

Started playing throughs Dark Souls Remastered 7 days ago, since then, I've finished it in 31 hours, and currently 20 hours deep into DS3. I haven't seen a developer be as confident with ha game in a while. Most AAA developers lately are very picky with what they like to share with other channels or journalists, but FromSoftware sent 10-hour builds and longer versions to tons of people. They are not sending two-hour demos but, entire chunks of the game... They are extremely confident in their game, they aren't trying to hide anything compared to Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, or even Dying Light 2, this is amazing! I can't wait to get my ass handed to me over and over again! Multiple endings, new sandbox, and open-world Soulsborne gameplay?! YES! I can't wait a week! Larian Studios released an 'early access' build (which they also handed out to many content creators) of the game allowing unrestricted access the first act of both Divinity Original sin 2 and Baldur's gate 3. In BG3's case several years before it's release. With BG3's first act providing up to 50+ hours of content for a single playthrough that'd require MANY subsequent playthroughs to actually experience it all. You don't need to put down other developers to praise Elden ring. There's many stories and been many like the one above in this industry. What From Software did was open up the first small portion of their game to already partial media outlets as advertisement. No doubt the most polished and worked on part of the entire game and only a few months out from the release. Did you know they did the same thing with battlefield 2042 even? As all of the content creators are more than happy to advertise, the network test didn't even represent a significant portion of Elden ring. Unlike Act 1 of Baldur's gate 3 & DOS2 which represents between 1/3rd and 1/6th the size of the entire game. As the first act is typically the largest.
