0 - 3 is crazy...I had to throw my hands up at that point cause TSU was louder but not better. They did sound good at times and definitely won a round or 2 but definitely not the first 3 in a row😅. I'm not from either school so just observing unbiased.

KB. I started checking you out a little over a year ago and even though we may disagree on this particular reaction, I now and will always respect and appreciate you. I think someone made a comment about you possibly not really feeling Nawfuk (lol) because you may like that SWAC sound. I must respectfully disagree with them. Im pretty confident that i have seen every reaction you have made about Norfolk and you have always and I do me ALWAYS given the Legion their props!!! I've watched multiple reaction videos of this particular 5th qtr. Here's what ALOT of people need to learn. NORFOLK IS NOT IN THE SWAC!! Now that you got the memo, please stop. Just stop. Norfolk is about balance from front to back. Music is not about how loud you can play, it's about how good the group sounds as a whole. Until some of you learn that, then these reactions to Norfolk will always be the same. Especially with you SWAC cats.

The AOB has its moments but they’ve never been the band to do all that. I do think they cranked it up a bit for this battle but only because it was homecoming and another HBCU.

Giving black and blues a tie against Freak no more was a cop out lol. They clearly didnt want to play it, and honstly just isnt a good response. I also prefered NSUs first tune better. And NSU dirty D won that 3rd round imo. I got NSU 5-3. The 0-3 start was crazy and TSU tubas pushed their power all night. Which they out number NSU like 24-13. Idk...this battle clearly is polarizing.

Tsu's tuba's are hawking this year and I'm here for it. Both dirty Diana's was nice. I will give Norfolk the W on that particular song. Overall I'm gonna give the edge to Tsu.

For those who said the Legion lacked energy its reasons. We are an actual MARCHING band. 90’s while playing, drill and fundamentals. We don’t focus on overblowing. Im apart of the tuba section at Nsu. Though they had 24 they wasn’t locked in. Of course they are going to be heard more tho. We don’t play high all the time like other sections but we play together. I suggest watching the section battles

NSU had energy and executed well but in this battle, something was missing. Also, there are a ton of MARCHING bands that are good on the field and in the stands as well. SMH. Boy, you'll a hot mess

After a second look at this. The Spartan Legion takes this. They really finesse the hell out of TSU. TSU was powerful, but NSU played like professional musicians. Also, the drums of NSU aka Million Dollar wond every round point blank.

@KBThaBandhead you got your opinions and I got mine. Black n Blues in a 5th, and the slow tempo Boogie Wonderland killed them for me. All they had over NSU was volume...execution was muddy as hell. But from your previous reviews, I know what style you like and that will never be NSU. They give you clean intensity. They are not Swac that blow notes over each other for the sake of volume, never will be. NSU will never be a SU clone...sorry.

KB they probably hardly ever go thru this many songs in their book ever had plenty unsure spots. Lol. Great part about not being in that swac is they dont have to learn new songs every week. @rafaelpineda6454 first check out Tsu's curriculum and see if they have what you are looking for. They obviously have a good band program. So if it's band that you love they may just be a good fit for you. Talk to some of the band heads at Tsu if you're interested in band. 🙏

This one was more about preference, kinda seem like u wanted to hear the SWAC style of a 5th in which the bands play only songs that have those "blow as loud as u can" notes in them, the Legion gon Legion so if thats yo preference absolutely you would lean more towards TSU, personally i like the Legion style and id prefer to listen to them over TSU, both bands were ready for eachother tho, i kept reminding NSU on social media to please not go into Tennessee wit MEAC rules, in the beginning thats exactly what they did until they finally settled in

tbh, something was off with NSU in this battle. It didn't have anything to do with a "SWAC style". They had attack issues and seemed like they didn't know some of the songs. Definitely wasn't their best showing to me. TSU was the better band to me but they had their issues as well.

i don’t think the whole band had attack issues, really it was mainly the trumpets. I’m gonna guess that many trumpets are freshman because that section grew a lot this year. That being said, I still loved the battle. AOB brought the heat and so did the Spartan Legion and they were far more musical than the most recent SWAC battles

@@deemanDavid This battle was low-key boring. The energy was low and most of the tunes were executed poorly from both bands. The best battle I've seen this year was Alcorn vs Alabama State and Jackson state vs Alabama A&M.
