My guess is that because of the sheer number of humans in Melromarc that are racist towards demi-humans that they assumed that even though she knew the words of the spell she wasn't capable of casting the spell and by the time they realized they were wrong they'd either already lost or enough of them were unable to fight that they no longer had the numbers they needed to win

You know this brings up a point. How come in rpg games with mounts ur never given a carriage to put stuff in? In games like horizon, red dead, skyrim and such it would help to have such things. Though in skyrim why are you the only one that rides a horse?
