I think Band-Maid was the first japanese rock band i discovered (or was it Babymetal?), but time gets very blurry for me😆But it must have been about 3 years ago now 🤔Awesome video as always 😄

So my nephew saw Babymetal end of 2019 in LA and checked them out on KZbin and that good ol KZbin algorithm gave up Band-Maid (Thrill was the 1st video), then Lovebites. Pandemic hit and I was "sucked" into watching them and other awesome Japanese rock/metal until all hours of the night winding my way through all the rabbit holes. Thanks for your awesome diligence on digging into the backgrounds. Lovebites next?

A key element of Band Maid's success is the fact that all are outstanding musicians but the usual egos are missing. Kanami, who I feel is a musical savant, is the creative engine room writing and arranging almost all of their material, but allows every member to have their solos and time in the spotlight. This allows arrangements that feature MIsa's strong bass playing - an instrument often kept in the background. Musical talent aside they are led on stage by Miku a natural 'showman' who has taken her maid cafe routines to create concert breaks that have become legendary. Now every member has an entertainment 'personality' that are featured during the concert breaks. Finally and key to all this, each has a real sense of humour and fun.

Gym Rock Crew great job on this, Part 1, video of Band-Maid. These ladies are some serious musicians. Example: on ‘Sense’ the producer told the band that they wanted a dramatic orchestral opening. Kanami spoke with some classical musicians and then wrote the opening for ‘Sense’. Akane writes the musical notation for her drum parts - for each song. Each of the members have a role in creating each song and determining what is best of that song - leaving egos aside.

I discovered BM in early 2020. But too late to see them live in Germany. I am still waiting for a occasion right now. I was fascinated from the first song, I heard. Well done! I don't think I've seen such a comprehensive yet concise overview of the band's members as this one. Your research is appreciated as are your considerable editing skills. Good work on the hair, too. As far as how I discovered BAND-MAID, I may have posted this on this channel before, but I was comforting myself with music after my father passed in early 2020, right before the pandemic hit. I was listening to a lot of Nightwish when BAND-MAID started appearing in my KZbin recommendations. I decided to finally give them a chance. If I didn't like them, I could avoid them. If I like them, so much the better! The first songs I listened to were "Dice," "Blooming," and the live version of "Domination." I was hooked right away. The next night I wanted more, so I listened to more songs and also found LOVEBITES, Unlucky Morpheus, and Wagakki Band. From there I've found a whole slew of new rock and metal bands from Japan and then from around the world.

A really good, compact and detailed intro to our maids! 👍🏻 Looking forward to the next chapter... Of course, I hope that it will never come to that, but should one of the ladies require a short-term replacement, we have probably found the perfect double for each of the ladies. Very pretty and very well done. ☺ I stumbled across the Maids by accident here on YT in 2019 when their MV for 'Thrill' popped up on my feed. Bored already for a long time more or less by the music I knew at the time and curious from the thumbnail, which appealed to me because of my affinity to anime, I clicked on it and 4 minutes later my music world was turned completely upside down. When I saw their MV to 'Daydreaming' two or three videos later, I was ultimately trapped in the pigeon-hole of this band and the crush turned into love. :) I had lost the closeness to rock music many years before, but out of nowhere I suddenly had fun with it again. It's fresh and at least for me it's just fun and interesting to listen to. At the beginning, certainly also due to the language barrier, but mainly due to the, as you said, intelligent composition that comes with the music, also my behavior how I listen to music has completely changed. There is so much to 'discover' and it just doesn't get boring. Thank You and Greetings from Germany. 🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♂✨ _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' 🎶🕊

Hi Ramona, Band Maid I love them... I saw them live last year at House of Blues Houston Texas, what can I say, fun, musically fantastic, I'm a multi-instrumentalist, the thing I loved most was their interaction and sensitivity with the audience without that detachment that you usually feel at various concerts, and in some, acclaimed bands really sucked. But Maid are a must see if you want to come out of a concert a mega smile you don't go wrong. Recommendations like songs, Domination Live, Blooming, but they don't miss a beat.

Respecting their privacy, their personal lives don't generally get disgussed by fans (Madiacs). First heard Band-Maid Dec 2018, on the Wings Of Pegasus reaction site. He reacted to the song Play- Official Live Video, then saw my first live show in London in June 2019. @@GymRockCrew What I understand from other people commenting on reaction channels on KZbin. Just like the originals that Kanami came up with for Band Maid In the early days. They will never see the light of day either. I think with the songs. It's more along the lines of the group doesn't want to look like they are disrespecting. The management that put their foot down and said they couldn't use their own stuff yet. And that of course is part of their culture of respect. By those that are in power above them and older than them. In my humble opinion of course. But I think it's pretty easy to see.

I am definitely no party pooper or stick in the mud as they say. But this constant cheering on of Misas alcohol intake really is disturbing. Especially since much of this fan base from what I gather. Is around the Middle age mark or maybe even older. That kind of thinking about cheering on the alcohol intake. Was cool when we were in high school and maybe the first 5 or 10 years out. Too many great artists and entertainers. Found themselves either over dosing or at the bottom of a bottle. Although she is extremely talented she's obviously got insecurity issues. Instead of trying to seem cool and act like high schoolers. Maybe a tad or two less cheering on her alcohol consumption !
@GymRockCrew

I agree with you and this channel is about rock and metal musicians sporting healthy lifestyles. Misa did say the alcohol was getting too much and that she would be cutting down, so there's hope🖤
@chuckvelten5337

@@GymRockCrewI had known or was told by someone in the know. Who is friends with someone in Japan who is very close to the one of the ladies in the group. Maybe even a couple of them, but one definitively. And said that someone Misa knew had committed suicide. And she was going to cut down on her alcohol intake. I probably knew this over a year ago maybe a year and a half ago. And I was sworn to not really repeat it. The person I know that gave me this information. Is really never on KZbin. And I think doesn't really go for the reaction channels on KZbin. Again moderation is the key in anything. But it just seems like it's a big part of her public persona. And I hope it's mostly an act or at least played up a lot. Just like the Kanami supposedly is in love with Saiki act/routine. Saiki From what I am told broke up with her boyfriend a year or so ago. Around the same time I got the info about Misa. So there is nothing going on between Kanami and Saiki. From what I was told it was an inside joke that got out of hand. And Miku played it up and ran with it. Incorporating into the band's act routine and persona.
@GymRockCrew
@GymRockCrew Жыл бұрын
@chuckvelten5337 Well, nothing wrong with playing up Saiki/Kanami... its cute. But if Misa's forcing herself to drink more because of the act, that could be harmful. I'm not going to speculate. She knows her strengths and limitations. I hope everything works in her best interest🖤
