Congratulations to Band-Maid with 20M views on Thrill. Thrill was Band-Maid's first MV published on KZbin. IT was uploaded on Facebook and from there it blew up all over the place. Thrill saved Band-Maid from being dropped by their label at the time. Thrill reached a worldwide audience and their way to world domination started. From Thrill and onwards Band-Maid grew their fanbase, got to record and release their own music, play live shows worldwide, they evolved into the amazing band they are today. Thrill was the first song by Band-Maid to reach 20M, but it won't be the last. In about 3 years time, give or take, both "Real Existence" and "Choose me" will reach 20M views.

I'm proud of our Maids! "Thrill" did well enough to stop the label from shutting them down & keep them in business, but I can't say it was truly a "viral" hit. It IS, however, an evergreen one. From here, they had to grow the old-fashioned way -- hard work and determination. Through it, they EARNED their worldwide fanbase + sold-out shows! Not bad for an independent all-girl rock band from Japan where nobody speaks proficient English (Kanami and Miku try)

@@smilingscottsman They are Japanese, a bit different mind set. Also, Japan has several all female rock bands that have been together for many years. Show-ya's been together since 1981 - they still tour (all female metal band - the original metal pioneer) - and Aldiou's been together since 2008; Scandal's been together since 2006. Japanese tend to be very group oriented, more so than individualistic Americans. I am not saying that's good or bad. Both have pluses and minuses. There is one thing all the fans know, B-M's stated goal is World Dominaton. I think B-M will stay together for a while.

Miku the back up singer put bandmaid together. They call her an old man in a little girls body. She worked at a Maid Cafe where sometimes they have to sing and dance. She was probably smart and saw a different way. She found the drummer online in a youtube demo video, which led her to the bassist and guitarist which led to the singer which Miku picked because she liked the style of singing. Miku famously didn't tell Sai'ki (singer) they had to wear maid outfits which is why her costume changed from white, in maid, to the front with all black and stockings. Sai'ki hated the outfits. Since Miku moved aside for Sai'ki, Miku learned to play rhythm guitar and the band named the drummer the leader of the band, I assume to stop any disputes. But Miku is still the leader by pretending to be a pigeon for laughs and she always answers most of the media questions and is the one interacting with the crowd on the stage. They do play their own instruments but Kanami said when she joined the band she read the music and thought it would be a great challenge. Not sure if they still have song writers.

Thrill immediately caught my attention over seven years ago and I have been a devoted fan of Band-Maid's music ever since. It is extremely rare for five incredibly talented musicians to be in the same band together and get along with each other so wonderfully in order to produce consistently great music. All of them have been in this same band for ten years now and it has been fascinating to witness them evolve while utilizing many different musical genres seamlessly into their music and yet still keep their signature sound. Band-Maid is one of the very best, if not the best, hard rock band currently playing today.

I'm glad my dad told me about this band. he sure knows his stuff. my dad is a bassist so he holds rock musicians to a very high standard. he called Misa a badass and I know that means a lot coming from him. these ladies have a great sound and I have a shit ton of respect for them. I've seen some great rock bands but they top my previous favorites by a lot. they're such amazing women

Mark King, bassist for Level 42, was considered by his peers to be one of the top bassists on the planet. In an interview, he said the bass slapping technique is the most difficult style of play (curious to know if your dad agrees). Anyway, during the instrumental portion of this song that's exactly what Misa does. They really are an incredible collection of talent. I hope they can keep it together and go on to become one of the best rock bands ever.

They are pure legit hard rock metal and they bring it. I haven't seen takent like this in years. I stumbled on this by accident. Thats when i find the best music. Like Rick Derringer says in Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo. Somebody say keep on Rockin ? Thank you ladies. For your refreshing keeping Rock and Roll alive. AKANE: "Before starting BAND-MAID, I was working at a kind of "music bar" both as a hall staff and as a drummer. At the bar the tunes of 60s to 80s were mainly performed, and I learned about 600 tunes to play as a drummer, including disco music because we had to play various tunes and genres at the guests' requests. They loved rock music best, because many of them spent their teens during that time, I guess. That's why I learned a lot about "Classic Rock." Before starting to work there, I had an audition and I played "Highway Star" by DEEP PURPLE. This song gave me the chance to work as a drummer. More and more people requested "AKANE's Highway Star! " I owe very much to this song." (from MASSIVE Vol.38)

How did this song get wrapped into an Evanescence playlist for me? Algorithms, man. I love this band so much!!! They're so young here and the Pigeon can't play a lick lol. The evolution of their costumes is wild...especially Saiki. Seeing them live in the DC area was the highlight of my year in 2022

The hell with age. I am soon-to-be 53 years old male from Bulgaria. Being rock fan forever. Participating in numerous unknown Bulgarian bands as a drummer in my youth. Akane is probably the best female drummer I have ever heard or seen. The other girls in the band are also phenomenal. I just don't have enough compliments to you young ladies. Please keep up and never give the metal up! You ARE the best there is!

So anyway i'm glad we've met before on good terms. What i won't have is someone who mentions me by name as all that's bad for BAND-MAID in a comment then doesn't expect there to be a comeback with both barrels. They said Rock and Roll was dead. They were wrong. It just moved to Japan and put on French Maid outfits. WTF?! Right? And while Band-Maid is clearly the best Japanese Girl band out there, I'm finding there are quite a few. None of them pushing the music so hard as these girls, but harder than any new western band I've heard in quite a while.

@@darknimja True this album came out in 2015 when they had songs written for them... But their fingerprint is on this recording, big time and no doubt added to the Track... The Maid's made Thrill their own. However by 2016 and since Band Maid writes their songs. Typically their process is they do a demo created by Kanami, and rhythm section arranged by Akane & Misa. Lyrics arwritten by Miku, and with Saiki giving her input.

Wish I could go back and experience the joy of hearing this for the first time. It was literally a thrill, taking me by surprise after years of listening to the same old formulaic tunes, to hear genuine musicians perform with such charm, talent, and enthusiasm This performance was the "Hors-d'œuvre" that lead me to their endless buffet of delicious fresh songs to feast upon. These maids really can serve it up.

The Jazz Avengers bassist is the original bassist from TGJ. When I heard her single 'The Princess of Funk' I was hooked.

This just Rock. No need for a label ... The US is onto CASH always going with what is new looking for that big payday. Even if what is new is pure crap.
