Anything overdone gets a bit more boring, where i separate the LS is it still sounds really good, and likewise because of the different head options can sound a bunch of different ways. I'm more into tuner cars but i feel negatively towards stuff being overdone more so with K20 because that engine with its best head sadly does not usually sound that good, even compared to many other 4cyl, that said ported k24 heads (which work well for turbo applications if not as insane for NA) don't suffer these issues, or at least give enough material a serious head porter can still end up with a good sounding engine, K20 suffering from areas being removed that really effect the way it sounds (and also cause exhaust reversion, thus the constant blown up K20s.) They did some weird cost cutting on the exhaust side of the K20s head and it ruined one of the best performance 4cyl in the least important ways for a dyno, but the most important in my soul. Thanks for the your LS recipe, your content is always top notch.

Beautiful fab work, but man up and forward headers are awful to work around. Truck norris cam is a terrible choice for a big hp turbo cam, but itll work. 700r4 is gonna be hating life behind a turbo ls in a heavy car

Can you make a 350z sounds like a 911 gt3 with unequal length headers (the theory is to advance/retard the arrival of the pulse to mimic the "firing sequence" of the desired car) and maybe manufacture these
@FluidMotorUnion5 ай бұрын
It’s a KZbin propagated misconception that somehow all cars sound alike if given the same firing order… firing order is important, but it’s not the “instrument” that creates the sound, it’s an adjustment, a “tune”. You couldn’t make a flute sound like sousaphone if you made the pipes longer and bigger, it would just sound like a flute with some stuff on it. The cylinder head, valves, cam timing and ignition play a much bigger part in giving an engine a sound than the header construction. WE COULD, and HAVE made great sounding VQ’s using unique exhaust concepts, but you’d still hear a VQ, not a porsche…
@yassinenattah5 ай бұрын
@@FluidMotorUnion so with "ported" heads, cams, and a very specific tune you could?

Kinda sad and confused with your usual attention to detail that the accessories, plug wires and all the stuff you need to live with aren’t installed during then fabrication.
@FluidMotorUnion5 ай бұрын
Why would we do plug wires before we’ve finished the turbo manifolds and finalizing the wiring harness? We really made this video because people were asking for info because it was sitting in the background of the videos, but we’re a while off from being finished, as should be evident from the video..?
@mcfero15 ай бұрын
Bad header design. Those plug wires will never make it. Also 1000hp with a 700r4 trans will never last. There is tons of room in front of the grille. I’ve got a 4 inch thick intercooler on mine. All the exhaust work took up space for no reason. Just will make excess heat it then engine bay. For a real ls guru check out sloppy mechanics KZbin channel although Richard holdner is good he doesn’t have real world data on the engines. He does a full throttle pull and calls it done.
@FluidMotorUnion5 ай бұрын
You must be new here. Built 700r4 before we touched it. Lots of 1000 hp++ 700r4s built right, pretty common actually, but this one should handle 1200 with a trans brake… Plug wires are how you insulate them. We build our own but won’t have an issue looking pretty and handling glowing manifolds.
