No immediate misfires no matter how we load it, but I would have liked the customer to opt for the coils based on my experience with these engines. The customer decided to gamble, but we will see as there is no current faults.

Different issue, but I bought a 06 Toyota corolla that had just had the clutch replaced. After a while, I started having tons of electrical issues, starting, charging, thought it was the alternator and/or the starter. After weeks I reached down and the main ground wire on the top of the transmission housing was loose, totally fixed the issue.

I used to work for a Benz dealer and honestly if u buy a amg the last thing u need to modify is their factory exhaust system it’s already pretty aggressive and now most amg have active exhaust valves

OH YEAH - I had a 2015 Ford Taurus SHO with the 3.5 twin turbo, simple mods from Gearhead Tuning and I was at 500 crank HP - so......I wanted it to have some bark to it's bite and installed a Magnaflow cat-back. Well...... welcome to drone city and it did not sound good at all! What a waste of money! So the exhaust shop had to play around with adding a larger flow-through mid-muffler and other stuff - just a nightmare! LEARNING LESSON - some companies (like Magnaflow) and exhaust shops just need to walk away from business sometimes to save face and future headaches with said customers! Some cars just CANNOT be made to sound good (HELLO ALL you 4 and 6-bangers!!!!!!) Hey, that was me 6 years ago and I learned. *EDIT* I had a 2021 Durango SRT and loved it! But my lease was up and there were a couple issues driving me crazy so I swapped over to a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Overland with the 5.7 HEMI. It is SO damn quiet you can't hear it at all!!!!! I want just a bit more deep tone to hear that glorious Hemi V8! What do you recommend? THANK YOU!!! PS. this customer just needs to suck it up and get the SQ7 for that V8 sound he wants - he probably spent just as much now with all these mods!

I’ve seen those cars stock put out 550WHP. I feel like with the mods it should have made more. Can someone explain why it didn’t make more?
@FluidMotorUnion2 күн бұрын
Did you see it make it on our dyno? Need to compare apples to apples… dynodynamics is notoriously conservative.
@tonyburns53882 күн бұрын
@ okay I have heard that I just didn’t think it made that big of a difference. I was thinking 5-10% variations between dynos. Is it more than that?

Hey OJ I really think the exhaust sounded really good it's kind of sad that the customer just doesn't appreciate the Mozart of a custom exhaust good job though
@FluidMotorUnionКүн бұрын
Appreciate that! Sometimes you just gotta do what the customer wants. Its hard for us to guarantee sound unless we custom build the whole system. People don't understand that.

Factory is made to pass emissions and keep the car quiet, while a nice loud tone is awesome, it can really be tiring on road trips. The wagon or SUV body shape tend to make insane drone noises especially for the passengers in the back. I am willing to bet the owner liked the sound but whoever was in the back just could not stand the droning. Not all vehicles need a 3 inch titanium exhaust with burnt tips.
@aust-n2 күн бұрын
Have you seen the 8-4-1 headers that are gaining popularity in the corvette game lately? They make great power and have a really cool top-end scream, but in the midrange where you’ll actually be driving the car they have some pretty rough droning sounds and shitty sounding frequencies. I’d love to see you guys take a stab at dialing one of those setups in to perfect the high-end sound that they aim to produce.
@viccao84312 күн бұрын
It’s amazing you worked with the customer even if they were being a bit difficult. Have you guys tried using helmoltz resonators? I originally had a q7 (newer turbo engine) and didn’t like the raspy straight pipes sound even with a valves muffler and resonators. After trying the APR Helmholtz resonator it completely changed the tone (for the better) and it basically is only “loud” over 3k rpm.

06 cts v chasing #5 misfire. New coils.new wires. New plugs. New injectors. Verified at#5 all those are working. Yet it remains. It had been parked last 3 year till me. Ive only drove it 55 miles. Also a clunk noise when clutch is pressed. Leaning towards bad lifter. But no weird noises on valve train..all fluids were changed as well. LS2 ENGINE.

My LAUNCH scanner really sucked. It totally died when new. The only recourse I have is social media because there is no support for them if bought on Amazon. But it was fortuitous because the Innova 5610 I got as a replacement is far better than the Launch. Real buttons, California-based support, and a great manual that is written by technical writers who know English. The manual itself is an education in automotive electronics. I bought this brand because other Innova devices I have acquired over the years have shown themselves to be durable well-designed tools.

I'm completely brand new to cars. I'm a software dev. The way I look at it is this, this little thing will save me from taking my car down to the dealer (who d*cks me around most of the time). So if it saves me 3 trips, it's paid for. Not only that, my wife's car is a 98 honda so it'll come in handy, a lot. It's literally $500 on amazon Canada. Gonna swoop it up shortly. Thank you for a great review.
