At 08:38...Last November 2023, I rented an Airbnb at the Ideo Mobi Sukhumvit Eastgate condominium complex! It is an ultra-modern complex with a huge lap pool and a very nice fitness center. It's adjacent to the Bang Na BTS station and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the Asok BTS station at Terminal 21. I paid only $300 USD for one month for a studio condo with a washing machine in the unit. Down the street is the Tongsai Night Market where I went frequently to buy my inexpensive dinners.

That sounds like a great deal. Bang Na, Udom Suk, and Bearing are the new hotspots for affordable condos.

When I was young, 60+ years ago, Vitamilk was the best selling soy milk in Thailand with no competition in sight. For the last 40 years Lactasoy has become close No.2. Vitamilk was originally available in glass bottle and still do while Lactasoy since its inception comes in as UHT carton package. It is hard to see Vitamilk in glass bottle now but still available.

I am with you i would rather live in the asoke area or one or two stations away so you could walk if you had to. Having to call it an evening at 11 pm to make the last train or arrange for a taxi when everyone says the taxis price goes up after the last train would get old fast.

The air isn't great lately. Burning season has started. That's never a great thing. I'm looking out the window on the 26th floor. I'd say it's 20% less view than when it's clear.

Yes, I'm not much of a morning guy. If I am up at 6am, i usually go back to sleep in the afternoon. But, even if I just stay at home, I'm usually up until 200 or 300 am. Sometimes, I'm up all night

Probably should factor in $75 USD for BTS monthly transport if you’re going to live down that way.
@EagerExpat6 ай бұрын
I would say I paid way more than that living in On Nut. But, I went out often. Most people meet up in the Nana, Asoke, Phrom Phong area. I can walk or take a moto-bike these days. Living in Phrom Phong it was many $10rt cab rides. Even the BTS is a few dollars roundtrip. And it stops running at 12:15 am. Other folks move out really far. Maybe past Bearing. That's great, but not only does it cost, but you have a longer train ride each time you go out. It's all about how much you go out.
@Marinate3056 ай бұрын
@@EagerExpat excellent points. Probably better off rolling up your would be transportation costs into something more centrally located.
@EagerExpat6 ай бұрын
@@Marinate305 Ya I've said over and over the farther out you get, you might save $200 in rent, but you have to travel 20 minutes to a grocery store or movies. Plus, the extra expense of cabs and train fares. That $200 savings turns into a $100 or $50 savings. I'm not sure that's worth taking a 20 minute train ride, in my case, twice a day. Maybe if you stay home, shop once a week and go meet friends on Saturday night. Myself, I'm out exploring the city and filming every day. Then I go home and relax and head out to eat and meet friends for music or drinks most every night. All of which is in Central Bangkok. Living 10 train stops away, doesn't work for me
@Marinate3056 ай бұрын
@@EagerExpat great point too Joe. Hang out a couple of nights until 12:16 and your 47 baht BTS ride turns into a $300-$500 baht cab ride down to Bearing. Couple of those a month and you’d be questioning yourself why you weren’t Phrom Phong neighbors. 😂

@@Marinate305 This is true. You can take the 12b bus. But, that's a long ride and often times you stand
