Mastodon rocks. Brann has always been one of my favorite metal drummers. His style, phrasing and creativity put him at the top of the metal game. And he sings. He's literally the heavy metal Phil Collins.

I actually met Brann when they were supporting Slayer and Slipknot in 2004 I think it was.Leviathan had just been released and they did a short 20 minute set,but I remember being blown away by his drumming skills.i saw him standing in the crowd after the Slayer set,and I recognised him and said how impressed I was with his drumming and that Leviathan was a great record. He was a super nice guy and very polite.Mastodon deserve all the success they can get.

Crack the Skye is a masterpiece and I love Brann's drumming and his voice. Had the pleasure of seeing Mastodon with Opeth and Khemmis in Detroit recently, and they were on fire! Brann, keep it up dude. You're incredible.

Was at the Masonic for that show. Was my first exposure to Opeth Live, and I was not impressed, but that is just me. I am really not a big fan of them to begin with, but tried to go into that show with an open mind. They were just "meh" to me and my tastes. 'Don crushed it on this last tour.

Brann was the first major drum hero of that 2000's time. Back then you had some great drummers. You had Chris Pennie from Dillinger Escape Plan, Ken Schalk from Candiria. Dave Witte from Burnt By the Sun and later Municipal Waste. But Brann was so entertaining, multitalented and energetic. Just a complete character.

What a great interview! Just gotta love Brann (and all the other dudes from Mastodon aswell), he's such a humble and well-spoken guy, you really feel that when he talks, he doesn't just want to babble something to get the interview or question behind him, he really takes his time to give a full thought-on answer, he wants you to understand his point of view and I really adore this. But also big probs to Sam, he led this interview in an awesome way, really made it enjoyable, informative and entertaining... Great job and thank you so much!
