It was amazing to be on the Sunset Strip Saturday Night and see so many people out there to pay our respects by throwing back some cold ones and rocking out to loud music. There was a tribute show by Metal Allegiance at the Whisky with over a dozen greats from some of my favorite bands playing classic covers and some originals. They closed out with a killer Motorhead set - Mikkey Dee came out to play drums for a song! My favorite moment was probably Dave Lombardo playing drums for Overkill. It was an awesome night and a fitting way to salute an say farewell to Lemmy.

Speed is a funny old drug. I lived on the stuff when I was young. You got used to the comedown and cured it by having more. It’s as if my body adapted to it. Then I quit and never touched a thing for 15 years. Suddenly, as part of my ongoing midlife crisis at 45 years old, I acquired some. Fucking hell! I was convinced I was having a heart attack or a stroke, probably both at the same time. Then I felt suicidal coming down. 2 days later, I did it again, and again and finally finished it off. I looked like shit, couldn’t have a piss and hadn’t eaten for a week. So, I retired. But my word it was beautiful. And I had the cleanest bathroom you ever saw.

I can vouch for Lemmy the gentleman. 14 years old, he signed my T-shirt after the Queens Hall gig in Leeds, 1982 (Ace of Spades Tour) that got on the No Sleep til Hammersmith LP. Which I skipped school to buy on the day. He treated us all as fans and was very careful to only slightly molest me with his marker pen. Not that I would have complained. What a man. They stayed outside chatting with all of us until we had to go get the parent's car, bus or train. And what a gig. I was a goth then too, Motorhead had cross-over appeal, punks, ska, hippies, everyone was there.

"We are MOTORHEAD, and we play Rock n' Roll !"... plain and simple. Lemmy was an amazing musician, lyricist and overall human being. I could list so many complimentary words, but when it comes down to it, he was someone you'd wanna spend time with. I could listen to the man speak without end and that's a rare thing. "...learn to win, although they'll always tell you it's a sin"... Lemmy, not only did you win... you made winning look flawless ! Thank you ♤🤘

Best hour of my life was seeing Motorhead headlinging Pigstock in Clinton IA in the late 90s. Lem died on my bday in 15. Guy gave me one of best and worst days of my life.

+Rn Rms My heart goes out to Phil and Mikkey...they are likely suffering the most. They lost their friend, brother and their band. They probably feel so lost right now.

I'm don't think the same. Knowing the way of thinking of Mikey i think that him it's really proud about his time in motorhead but Phil certainly must be broken.

you said it best my friend. I'm a huge Motorhead & Type O Negative fan & when Peter Steele died in 2010 along with Ronnie James Dio & Paul Grey. I was so lost when Peter Steele passed & Type O as a band must have been so hurt & lost as well because you can't replace a guy like Peter Steele not a chance. Plus Peter wrote 90% of the material just like you can't replace a guy like Lemmy KILMISTER. God Bless em

+Sudsy Sutherland Good man. I was DEVASTATED when we lost Peter and can remember what I was doing when I heard. Now since we lost Lemmy too, I just don't even know what to do with myself. They are both huge influences to me creatively and appearance wise.

So glad I got to see Motörhead before Lemmy sadly passed away. 2008/09 was such a fucking insane year for me gig wise. Saw Metallica twice, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Mastodon, Trivium as well as some others.

I did not know of Lemmy until after his death. In looking at all the interviews this one especially the man was definitely special and true to his lifestyle no poser here. Wish that I would have seen Motorhead live but missed the opportunity. RIP Lemmy!

This is one of the only interviews I've seen where the host and producers didn't ask the same mindless dumb fkin questions that everyone asks like who's your musical influences and how many women have you slept with. Amazing job. You're definitely a real motorhead fan and you kept the brilliant and sharp Lemmy engaged and interested. I can tell he was enjoying it. So many interviews you can tell he's bored and annoyed and biting his tongue to try and be polite. You rock. And I enjoy your documentaries.

53 shows in 56 days, my body says no. It's such an important point to make that people seem to forget. It's not all about numbing pain, sometimes it's just to make you function like a rock star which = almost no days off in 3 months and constant travel

It really sucks that all the interviews I find of Lemmy are just 10-15 minutes long. Really wish someone had just recorded him at the Rainbow Bar for a few hours. That'd be my podcast.

I met Lemmy in the early 90’s, at The Rainbow-before the changed the smoking laws, he used to play the Asteroids table top game, in the downstairs bar. He was a complete gentleman and very kind and polite. R.I.P.
