Hey friends... A reminder that these are records chosen by YOU! In a poll of the albums from 2018 that we missed reviewing. [Usually because they came out the same week as another record we wanted or needed to cover.] So if you don't like the Top 5, get subscribed to the channel so you don't miss the "call for votes" videos.

Sometimes it's the harsh reality that the super underground bands just aren't gonna get the vote. This is a fair, quality list.... except one pick, but that's just my own taste. I would personally like to see this done twice a year, or even a "vote your album" quarterly edition.

For me, Portal Ion was easily the AOTY, listening to this album is more of an experience than a listen, emerging then disappearing into the fog of atmosphere the bookends it really helps your brain to process the alien compositions, and mind bending guitar work. And 'cleaning' up there sound was the equivalent to turning the lights on in the basement just to realise the monster is real, and far more terrifying than you could have conceived. 10/10

Good set of albums! My 5 would have to be: **Beyond Creation for a great Death metal album with intermixed tech/prog/melodic elements. Epic without being cheesy. I keep wavering between this and Alkaloid for the style. **Somali Yacht Club: What a well written album. The melodies are soaring and picks up elements of Stoner, Prog, and Post metal/rock. **Drudkh: What a return to form after being mediocre on more recent releases. Retains their newer production style but goes back a little more towards their older style of Atmoblack. **Necrophobic for strong AF melodic black Dissection worship. Incredibly catchy with loads of energy. While Uada gets the hype this one is the clear winner for the style. **Urfaust for some amazing psychedelic droning Black/Doom. Simultaneuosly heavy and listenable. Simply trance invoking. My AOTY.
