Hi, Have been using carbon for pushrods for a long time now. Rough up the end of the carbon with sandpaper first, and rough file the steel Z bend shaft too. Slide a piece of heatshrink over the two, adjust the length to suit. Then, have your heatgun ready . . . Quick single drop of CA on either end of the heatshrink and immediately heatshrink it on. The CA wicks into the tube straight away. Have never had one come loose, evan in big crashes. Great build video!

Excellent build. Love the simple thrust test, and the shadow board of course. That wing is so light! Couldn't resist, I bought one.

Andrew Newton It sure is light! I'm not sure how accurate the thrust test is, but I figured it was a half decent way to compare the two prop pitches. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. p.s. I did try to feature the board, just for you.

Looks like a great mini wing. I'm tempted for the price.

It is good fun. And if you have a few bits and pieces laying about (like most of us) then it really is cheap too. If you do buy it, consider using my link in the description, it helps me out. Cheers

So true about the many bits and pieces and I will consider. Thanks Michael.

Just an afterthought: Make sure to use several layers of aluminium foil to protect the wing from the heat.

A bit cold there Michael???

Cess182sn hahaha, yes. The first part was shot at night and there is no heater out in my garage. The calendar says Spring but the weather says otherwise.

Been looking at these. Get some wing FPV happening
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
It would need to be a super light FPV set up I think. OR maybe a blunt nose mod with a little stiffer carbon in the wings. But you can't beat the price for this one.

Is this the same quality as a teksumo wing ? Thanks
@xxMADxMICKxx4 жыл бұрын
No, it is much, much lighter. Cheers Michael

It is an awesome wing. I flew it a lot. Excellent on a super lightweight power set up. But it is not like the Tek Sumo.

Michael, Thanks for the info. I"m a bit confused about the motor can you tell me where to get one? my confusion is in the rotation? does it rotate clockwise because it is a pusher? or is it the prop that needs to be a pusher prop? can I get this motor at banggood? is it a quad motor? Thanks so much for your help.

where can I obtin the deflection and expo rates
@xxMADxMICKxx7 жыл бұрын
John Miller I don't seem to have the instructions anymore, usually they are in the back, but I am running mine with maximum throw, 25mm for the aileron and 20mm for the elevator. No expo, but that is personal preference. You could run 10 or 20 percent if you want. It already feels a little squishy so expo is not necessary

Michael, I just bought this wing...and I'm want the best performance and wind penetration. What prop? 2s Battery mAh and motor spec for weight and thrust..? is a 2s 1000mAh battery to much? or not enough weight. I'm trying to use a 12amp speed controller. Thanks any insight or changes you have made will be appreciated..I want to fly in 10-15mph winds..

G'day Aaron, I have been really happy with the set-up here in the vid 2212 2300kv with 5x5 prop. I am running a 850mah 2S and I think you could go up to 1000mah no problem. I think the only change I'd make is some sturdier control horns, the stock are a bit floppy. And maybe a little carbon in the elevon to make sure the whole surface is actuated with the horn. But really, you can't go wrong with this thing. Cheers Michael

i hate my wing.. can't get it to fly.. when I throw it, it just goes down
@xxMADxMICKxx7 жыл бұрын
TrullsFPV maybe add a little, maybe 2 or 3mm, reflex (up) to the elevons. This will help if the plane is going down. Also double check the C G to make sure it is not too far forward. Good luck. Cheers Michael

I am using a tripple bladed propeller. Is this bad?
@xxMADxMICKxx7 жыл бұрын
nah, that should be ok.

Andrew has a 6 blade and it works well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHyQmGSQfamLe8k
