As a Vancouverite that loves SE Asia, I could never go back to regular tp. In fact, we travelled in Thailand for 2 months, and the first thing we had installed when we got back was the exact same bidet system that attaches to the toilet. It was only like $40CAD. @@SideTripLife Yea hahaha.. it's just that, i don't think Jakartans are like 'beach people', but more of a 'mountain people'. That's why places like Bogor, Bandung, or even Dieng Plateau are still the top choice.

Lol It’s not the west where they expect a tip mate. The just America (and maybe Canada?). Europe and Australia tipping is so rare it almost doesn’t exist
@SideTripLife Жыл бұрын
In the West (ie Canada;) i really don't mind tipping say delivery drivers or other essential type services (especially in bad weather etc) but when I see or sense a tip is EXPECTED that puts me right off... However, in SE Asia most service people are working long days and usually just 1 day off all for a pittance of a wage, thus don't mind tipping if good service.

@SideTripLife Жыл бұрын
I read about the recent tragic incident at an old flooded open pit tin mine next to a swamp area. Also read about other incidents in natural croc habitats such as muddy estuary & mangrove swamp river areas (neither would be a place many tourists would go to swim). Ironically, also read that human encroachment into croc habitat is the main cause. Thanks for bringing it up though as people should be aware.

Are you purposely starting to stay in more expensive places this one seems kind of expensive. Making more KZbin money?
@SideTripLife Жыл бұрын
lol! YT money goes roughly like this: 10k views= $100. Thus, you can add up my YT salary fairly easily. Now, if I wanted to treat this like a biz I'd make a vid every day or so. 10k views x 30 days= $3000 (& add 50%++ more for existing content) so $4500-$5500 month. However, I prefer just doing weekly vids and not turning this into a job. As for spendy rooms, this one was under 50 Bucks, last one was $16 and wait till you see the next one, it's a real dive, stay tuned... STL
