It’s a bit of a late reply but this is so funny and I never considered it. When she was a toddler and she ate sushi she used to struggle with chop sticks so I would say “it’s ok, just pick it up.” Now, I forget, she’s almost 13 and you’re right… she eats sushi by hand 😂

The communal atmosphere is a cornerstone of Asian culture. People like to share, chat and have a laugh with complete strangers. Calling people "auntie, uncle, brother, sister" is pretty universal in Asia. Everyone is considered family.

Holy smokes, that sushi, even at £30.... In the sushi bars they now have in Tesco's the salmon omega platter, which is 5 or 6 small rolls, and 4 nigiris is over £10 alone.
