Greetings from Seoul Paul, another amazing video of Ari Thailand and its array of beautiful hotels, restaurants and other locations. These type of videos are what the doctor ordered and I see that the prices are very affordable given the it’s Bangkok. Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to your next episode. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a good one; property around Soi Ari is crazy. What was basically a suburb decades ago became extremely popular as Bangkok grew. Ari in particular skyrocketed when the BTS was built with a station conveniently built right there. But if you walk down to the corner of Soi 5, there's this piece of "underdeveloped" property. Completely overgrown, banana trees, boarded up old style house... which is probably worth 50M baht minimum!

Paul, you got to me. I’m a Canadian with a 3-5 month trip to Thailand targeted for next August. Always thought it would be Chiang Mai but I’m leaning to Bangkok now because of your awesome vids. Looking for a not quite as loud area in Bangkok and Ari could be it. A few expats around would be nice since I speak zero Thai. Thanks for putting it on my radar.

I've never seen anyone - Thai, Asian or Farang - ejected from a hotel for being in possession of durian. Not saying that it doesn't happen but most Thais try to avoid confrontation. I still don't believe the prices people pay for Nonthaburi durian, but that's a whole other video. Thanks for showing us around Ari.

Great video, but I just want to point out, there is excessive amount of youtubers and other social media influencers coming in to Bangkok (fashion topic now) and essentially promoting it to western audience and convincing them heavily to move here. They do not realise, that their initial intention - to leave original country that is falling apart (whatever it may be, US or others), is in the downfall because of the actual people - western society, western thinking. Not because of the physical location. If you start promoting for masses, how is Bangkok amazing, what happens over time (5-10-15-20 years?) is that all the retired people and new generation will slowly making their decision and move here, because the west will become more and more zombie land. Already now the Thai culture is heavily affected by floods of tourists and expats. It feels not comfortable at all. Also spending power of westerners is much higher, so it is causing lot's of stuff being more expensive and not affordable anymore for locals (due to the expat demand) . So after those youtubers constantly promoting amazing place with amazing pricing of condos and affordable lifestyle. It will eventually stop being like that. If the foreigner levels rise to higher numbers, Bangkok (and possibly other Asian cities in future too) will lose their safety, and all great benefits they have now, because they will become western colonies with western thinking. I definitely don't want to see Bangkok transforming into the apocalyptic places like London, Paris, or NewYork.
@iPaulLee3 ай бұрын
Has this been your experience as a Thai? I get this comment sometimes and I notice it’s never from Thai people. It’s the role of the government to properly deal with influx of tourists. Thailand has opened up its borders significantly, and they are the ones who’ve researched what the effects are to Thailand’s economy. For example when tourism destroyed maya bay, they halted tourism and then opened it up again. So Thai gov is responsible here, not your average influencer

@@iPaulLee One average youtuber is just fine. The content it cool. Just pointing out, there are way to many as of now in mid 2024 who are exceedingly saying 'please everyone move to Bangkok'. Hope it is just the online thing and it will not affect real life.

Funny to see Ari promotion trickle out. I'm guessing a real estate investor bought up a lot of land cheaply, built a few overpriced hotels and restaurants, and now they are paying influencers to make it sound cooler than it is. I think it needs a lot more to become a nice place to live, but it might get there one day.

I know you are probably living a better and more comfortable life in thailand. Thats the easy way out. I would have admired you 1000x more if you stayed in america and fought for the american dream here. Theres a saying the best things never come easy. Never. You gotta fight and grind and want it enough in the face of adversity and racism. Hardship. Trials and tribulations. And even if you dont achieve your 100 percent dream in america you would have at least not given up... MLK said he was not doing what he did for himself or his generation. It was for the future generations to reach the promise land. Hence today. But the effort and struggle was enough satisfaction for his soul and conscience. Theres a reason why america is by far the greatest country and most envied people in the world and the mecca of culture. It is the home of the brave. Be brave. Think big. Get out of your comfort zone. America is open for business.
