Just because someone went to University, doesn't mean someone is NOT Stupid. Look at how many worthless degrees there are. Many people graduate with enormous student loans and can't get a job, because they chose a worthless program. My neighbor's daughter studied "Fine Arts" and now works in a Coffee shop for minimum wage. Alternatively, my wife went to University and is a Dentist, there are obviously very good programs at University too.
@rocksteele69264 жыл бұрын
Max, that's for sure Man. my gardeners daughter studied "Liberal Arts" and works at a Starbucks. She could have dropped out of high school and got that job. Now she has massive debt and is bitter and angry. My wife is a Cardiologist, like your wife she picked a useful program to study. She makes more in a month than my gardeners kid does in 5 years and they are both the same age. Difference is, while my gardeners kid was walking around art galleries and doing finger paintings, my wife was learning how to do bypass surgery.

I've had the same happen to me, except I had ghosted the girl. When I returned to the bar she had worked at several years later, some of the girls who remembered me were so negative towards me. I told them, "So, now you know how it feels". That didn't go over well. I guess my old girl had left and was working at a restaurant. Then even gave me the address. I didn't go. too many years had gone..no need to rip open the wound again for her. I'm sure they told her they had seen me. I told them it was nothing against the girl when I left. It was complicated and she should know she wasn't to blame (which of course was a lie, but I decided to take the high road).

She had a separate phone, maintained a calendar to schedule times, and evidently did very well. Some of the men knew about her scheduling, but evidently she was so attractive, (I'm guessing she was hi-so in looks and style), and with each guy only having limited time but scheduled into her calendar, that everyone was fine. Thai women (of a certain background and family type / level) are outwardly despised by other Thai women ( upper class reasonably well off / rich?) for going with 'Foreigners! In fact all 'foreigners are not really liked for staying too long in Thailand. The 'bottom line' is foreigners are only wanted for spending money on holidays. If they stay longer --then they need to spend more! Very few relationships survive and even those can be 'arduous' at times! Pay for play and get away! Pay them to leave after engaging in the services offered!!

I don’t agree that regular Thai woman look down on some girls for going with foreigners and certainly would not use such a strong word as “Despised” I say this with experience as I have discussed this topic with educated, Thai woman…On the contrary they actually feel sorry for these girls that they come from poor families and have to work in a factor, on the farm or in the entertainment industry to earn better money.

I did not know anything about Gary in advance (who I also mistakenly called Jack in the story.) it was only later on after everything had happened that we found out about the relationship between Bun and Gary. It was only by pure chance that Mike happened to be having a coffee in the Nana shopping mall when Bun walked passed but as said, Mike did not make contact. I hope that clears up those points.

On teaching/tutoring English. I had a Ukrainian friend many years ago, who spoke conversational English, but not near business level. One day, she said she needed to go tutor her niece or cousin on English. So naturally I offered to come along to help. The niece or cousin was about 10-12 years old, was the cutest little girl, wearing a just as cute Angora knit cap. As soon as she realized I was there, the venue for the "lesson" was changed to an arcade (a place with coin-op games, not the English arcade). She showed no interest in conversing with me. She wanted to play games, and not the girl games. She played the boy games, with gun to kill monsters. And she was good. When she made a particularly satisfying kill, she has an expression like Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars Return of the Jedi when he was zapping Luke with lightning, (see kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3ammWeXfrCKr7c at the 1:26 mark).

I don't think you mentioned within the narrative if Mike discovered all of these things about her subsequently (then providing you with his story himself) or, did someone else provide you with that story (who knew Mike and Boon mutually). Great story, loving them. I think what she did was not good, A blow would be thinking has she had an accident, been murdered, that was totally cold and inhuman to do that, she should have been honest with mike. The way she left was heartless, but yes she wanted to avoid hurting someone, and perhaps she was naive herself. I would have gone out with my coffee and said, where the hell did you get to ? haha.

Loved the story as you told it bit heart breaking as similar thing happened to me not in Thailand though..poor Mike must of been really painful..you never summed it up Peter do you think Jack blew her out and she was back on game looks like it? I bet Jack screwed her over...what goes around and all that..but boon would of had a great life with Mike I guess as sharon did..her loss ha ha...great channel Peter keep up the great work I'm thinking of going to Thailand had a shit few years here came across your channel

Good video. I do not feel sad about Mike... Live and learn. But the end does not make sense to me. I think every reasonable person would have spoken her old flame.
@ThailandBound4 жыл бұрын
You hit the nail on the head when you said, "To Me" not everyone is the same, and Mike is not you, right? Mike made a different choice to what you would have, I hope that unconfused you and made sense.
@alred65684 жыл бұрын
@@ThailandBound I was not confused... Like you I lived in several countries. In my case, I lived in Latin America and have seen Americans and Europeans being played in the same way. I do enjoy your stories. Thank you for sharing.

Great story. I would've walked out of starbucs and walked straight past without a glance or word. If she said something just say I'm sorry but I don't know you and keep walking. She's obviously still a street walker which is satisfying enough.

Good story but I have to ask how do you know all about Jack when Mike didn't have a clue unless you know Buhn? And even then your tale still does not make sense. Edit: Sorry just read another comment below and your reply and it makes sense except for the ending. Buhns friend would not have know that Mike spotted her again outside of Starbucks?
@ThailandBound4 жыл бұрын
I think you're looking into it too much, I tried to explain it as best as I can, there's nothing sinister about the story I'm sorry you don't get it.

If I’m never told Mike why she was leaving. How do you know why she left ??
@ThailandBound4 жыл бұрын
We know because one of our friends was dating a girlfriend of Boon’s and when it all ended she told her boyfriend (our friend) who told us. Don’t be to critical, nothing sinister going on here. You would have been better asking me how I knew what door he exited Starbucks from in the Nana shopping mall😀

You say you only tell stories you know first-hand; so I take it you were constantly in touch with Mike when he returned to the US and for the ten years that he trained as a teacher, got married, went on holiday, say Noon, said nothing; then returned to the US. And all the time he had been faithfully keeping you up to speed with what he was doing. Did you meet up with Mike when he was on holiday? The stories are interesting and entertaining; but you are so good at telling them; I am beginning to wonder if you are just a good storyteller.
@ThailandBound4 жыл бұрын
I don't need to prove anything to anybody! The story is for entertainment value and I mentioned in the video but it was a true story. If you don't believe it then I will suggest don't waste your time watching my videos.
