Get in the pond!! The small fish we fry them whole and eat the lot, same as my mum did with sprats when I was a child back in the UK, difference being, we had toast made in front of the coal fire and Worcestershire sauce! The wet season is closing here in Isan so will go field fishing after collecting the rice. Does the village make the steps and concrete structures at the end of the cold season? As the crow flies you are only up the road.

Fascinating. A really great video. Now, if I've understood correctly, it cost you £9 or nine quid for all the biggest fish. Bargain for you, I trust you that it was also good value for the fishermen and their households. growing up in rural sylheti village, this was always exciting, I would always hope for some big fish but apparently u can't catch them with this kind of fishing net or method, only the small one will turn up. also u always gotta keep some goinna mas for biran (fry) very tasty lol and mokha mas is always nice to have, goes well with potato in a curry 😀
