This series is very helpful! I've learned a few things along the way. Keep it up.

could you give some explanation about the new setup for the forest hub? You mentioned that somebody suggested this, but could you give the reason for this change?

It seems to me that it reduces a few more steps on the road to each building that relates to each other. Woodcutter is now directly across from the wood stock pile, so he can grab wood and return firewood back to the stockpile faster. The gatherer is a little bit further from the storage barn but maybe that is because when the stockpile fills, the woodcutter can return firewood to the barn. Either that or it was picked to be there so that the houses can go all on the side of the roads near gatherer's hut for some design reason.

Rather than stone roads for major throughfares, I place wells and have divided dirt roads.
@pershop49503 жыл бұрын
That may look all nice and neat but stone roads are clearly faster than dirt roads, so when someone can spare builders or stone for stone roads, it's a recommended project to get done.

I wonder why you still include Woodcutters in your new forest hubs. I understand the initial Woodcutter in the first forest hub because you need firewood ASAP early on but after that it seems like a waste of space considering that Woodcutters work just as well near your market as they do in the hub itself. Thus making it an unnecessary use of space in the forest hub, limiting the amount of trees in it.

I think he said it's because firewood is the ultimate trade item.

I agree. After the first woodcutter it’d make more sense to place them by trading posts, then use the trader to bring in logs and unload them right after into a nearby stockpile that the woodcutters can take from.

Oh, or combine with an idea from a comment in episode 12, of putting a forester by the market. It could send wood to the trading post woodcutters depending on placement. It can also provide pockets of forest for the town herbalist to use, instead of it being only for treatment.

If you pin your trade screen when you have a trader they won't leave until you dismiss them.

A good thing to mention! I don't really do it as it seems (to me) to be a bug/exploit, but it is a very good thing to mention for those who don't see it as such. I'll make mention of it on my next video and give you a nod for the reminder :)

Pinstar Honestly I don't see it as an exploit at all. If the trade window is still open then your conversation with the trader is still going. closing that window is, in my mind, ending the conversation and freeing him to leave.

Can you stop merchants offering goods for trade that you already have? What exactly happens when if you order say Sheep=Never, would that work? I'm also uncertain about the opposite such as Stone=Always, as some lets players seem to avoid using this option. Does it have any negative implications?
@Pinstar10 жыл бұрын
You can't stop them, you can simply stop ordering goods you don't want anymore. They still might offer you stuff picked randomly that you might or might not want, like duplicate seeds.

So,what does the Never option do then?
@spacewolfcub3 жыл бұрын
@@MrDidz - That’s a good question! Why is there a Never option if it doesn’t do anything?
@MrDidz3 жыл бұрын
@@spacewolfcub I'm pretty sure it used to as I used to use it a lot to stop barges arriving with pointless loads. Perhaps it was changed in a recent update.
