I love the reference to that one tale about a fox tricking a wolf into fishing with it's tail, resulting in it freezing off!

that is in fact a story about the Great Wolf Amaroq.
@grayeaglej
@grayeaglej 4 жыл бұрын
Yes but I think in this instance it may be implied that instead of just getting his tail out of the ice the Villagers cut his tail off. :/ Maybe it would have still been frostbit but we are talking about the same people that are throwing newborns out into the snow to freeze to death just because of who sired them.

When Angel said she was there for a baby that was going to die, I thought it was in a grim-reaper esque sort of way, coming when someone is dying to take them to mictlan wood... But no, it was actually baby Charles! The fact that she wanted him for...some reason... makes me think she's got an agenda and might be behind more than we realize....

I didn't realize it until I started watching the series all over again, but one of the reasons Amaroq falls asleep while fishing might be because Corn bit him. You can even hear the rattle as the ice is freezing over his tail. Kitty might not have seemed guilty about what happened to Amaroq just because she gave bad advice; it might also be because in hindsight, she should have warned him about how Corn's bites tend to conk people out for awhile.

Ixtlilton!!! For the minimal time we've spent with this character, comic included, I just fan over this guy whenever he comes up. He has always seemed much more invested and empathetic than those around him. What I know of his mythology helps. He has just been portrayed, developed, and used so well in the time you've given him. I mean, look at this! Wasn't he blind by this point? He is still the only one bothering to take care of a bunch of children, notice when something is wrong and go find the kid. He is great and you should make him not icked forever, please?

@@hadiyahabib7990 Technically (from what we've learned in No Evil), all of the spirits are falling stars caught in Mamma Spider's web. So they all share a mother, and appear to have no father. Ichabod was adopted by a human family in Hollow; they later also adopted Chalchiutlicue, so she and Ichabod were raised as a family. As a result, they developed the close affection (and typical sibling squabbling) of family members.

In the episode Broken Hand, Amaroq called Charles his kid and said he was adopted. Which he basically is. He obviously took Charles and raised him. Which is why he's so spoiled and Amaroq is so compliant and patient with him. He's his caretaker and father figure and any parental figure would find it hard to admit that the child they raised is a psychopath. He cares about Charles but doesn't know how to feel anymore about the people who he thought hated him.

If y'all remember, McCoy blames Kitty for why Amarok left. They felt she was to blame because she was the one who gave him the idea to fish with his tail, when really he should have had his wound checked out, but he didn't feel like he could return without getting his chores done. They thought he left because the other spirits kept messing with him, when in reality he found out how heinous the two towns really are. McCoy only sees worth in those who have a purpose and can get things done, and Hatfield will lie and deceive and use underhand tactics to get what they want. When both were willing to let a baby die just for existing, that's when Amarok broke.

I remember hearing a story with a fox and a wolf. Going off memory so correct me if I'm wrong. The fox told the wolf he can fish with his tail. Fox does it is successful. The wolf tries to do it and ends up falling asleep. Wakes up to his tail being frozen solid into the ice. I can't remember if he pulled it off, amputated from the cold or bit it off. I remember reading it somewhere in a book. If I remember right the fox eat the wolves winter food and was 'making it up' to the wolf by teaching him how to fish.

Minute 0:56 IT'S A TIRE SNAKE!!! I never thought I'd ever see them referenced in anything outside of the occasional mythology/cryptid books.

I'm honestly pretty worried about Calamity. She has became very dour, appropriate given circumstances. However, with all the stress she's been sufferin', I'm afraid she might do something extreme. Love your work by the way!

So Amroq didn't leave because of his tail, he left because a helpless baby was being left to die by his McCoy family! Right now it looks like both towns are evil. Which might just be Charles' motivation.

Duh! Charles probably was that baby. Which is why he was raised in Mictlan by Amaroq.

A fox telling a wolf to ice fish with his tail. That's a rather clever way to reference a very old children's tale.
