It’s insane that house is being demolished. It would have been better to remove the entire house from its foundations and transport it somewhere else for a fraction of the cost to build a house like this. All that in the landfill. Hopefully they donate the appliances and whatever else to habitat for humanity.

You really never say why it is going to be demolished and replaced. Far more profitable to repair (as needed) and "update" (although I think the decor is beautiful. It is very clean for a house scheduled for demo, and there is evidence of recent cleaning efforts, which doesn't make a lot of sense with planned demo. This is so much warmer and more charming than the stuff they have on HGTV these days.

The key is for the chandelier. You turn the key & it lowers the light to change the bulbs or to clean it.

Gorgeous home. Sure most people would love to live in place like that. Shame it's going to be destroyed as it doesn't appear to need much work to bring it back to it's hay day. Interior design could be same today as in the 90's. Light fixtures don't look outdated. Guess homes today are like anything else, they are made to be throw aways and not last for years as older items were made. Hopefully some of the items will be salvaged and either given to Habitat for Humanity or local charity to be given or sold to someone in need. Great video. Enjoyed, thank you for taking us along.

What really bothers me is I could work till I'm a hundred and fifty years old and never be able to afford a beautiful home like that. They have it and are going to tear it down for something bigger. Don't people know there is a thing called remodeling or adding on. What a waste.

Beautiful home…well, except for the black mold! The kitchen is bigger than my living room & kitchen combined! So sad that the house will be torn down…such a loss. It certainly wouldn’t take a lot to rehab/refurb it. Much of it isn’t my taste, but even so, I wouldn’t destroy it!

Absolutely criminal that the house is scheduled for demolition. Good bones that just needs a little TLC. A fractional cost to bring it forward from the 1990's. Would be interesting to see what the house is replaced with and whether it's matched in quality. Just insane, especially at Ontario prices.

That black mold is an easy fix,have a mold remediation Company come in and handle it,besides that there's absolutely nothing wrong with that House,Canada is a throw away Country, Instead of fixing something,ohh let's just tear it down. That was a Gorgeous House. The States is the same way, tear down Country, tear down Country. I saw the Master Bedroom and my entire apartment could fit just in the Master bedroom, that's pretty bad.

The utilities alone would be North of $3,000 a month and the taxes, depending on which state it is located in could be $70,000+ a year. Most people couldn’t afford it even if it was given to them.

Do you know if they are going to auction off items in the house like, doors, floors, appliances, etc? Because if they are going to tear it down, then at least use what you can before it's torn down. But....why in the hell would you want to tear it down??? If you "need" a bigger house, ADD ON!!! Who are you trying to impress by building a bigger house?? This mansion wasn't made with enough bad taste, so obviously the developer has to tear it down and replace it by a disgusting Mcmansion being both gaudy and made with crap materials. I can totally asure you whatever thing they will erect on its stead, it will age like milk over a couple of decades. It seems to be a trend in Canada, from what I have seen.
