Those holes are for asbestos testing. There was asbestos in drywall and compound in the 60/70's

If this building is scheduled to be demolished...it would make sense to remove the wood floors, fixtures, doors and anything else that could be salvaged to sell to rehabbers in other houses...most of this house hase lots of stuff that could be reused.
