I tow a 13000lb 5th wheel w/2018 L5P 2500/Denali. It struggles big-time. Just installed Banks Derringer w/Banks bigass air intake & 5" Banks catback exhaust. Heading to Idaho from Michigan (Elk season). Your video is great info. Appreciate it. Thanks 👍

David EustacheCorrect, level 3 is a great all-around towing and driving setting… To be honest I leave mine on five all of the time towing or empty…6 I use at the dragstrip

Two nice features is that the power levels can be changed on the fly and the torque converter lock/un-lock display.

Is that pretty normal for egts on your rig? Completely different I know but it takes a long uphill to get my 2017 6.7 ford up to 1300. With the derringer and I dash. Towing around 12,000-13,000 depending if the trailers full of fuel and water or not

Darrell it was part of the package I purchased from Banks. I opted for the suction cup mount. I've never cared for the replacement type pillar mount gauge setup.

I m very impressed w/ the iDash I’ve barely feel my 14,000 pound trailer Going up 6-7% Grade Great product I would highly recommend it to anybody That has a L5P Best truck I ever owned yet and trust me I owned a lot of trucks 8 7.3L 2 6.0L 2 6.4L 2 12V 5.9 4 24V 5.9 HO 2 6.7L Cummins 2 LLY 4 LBZ 4 LML 🤣

Hil Palmer I would say the truck goes through a regen the same frequency or possibly more miles between regens...as if the truck runs cleaner and more efficient with the help of the Derringer.

I've had two 2017 L5Ps, a white one and a gray one. Both I towed with extensively. Seeing 2017 was the first of the new L5P I was curious how the refreshed motor would perform. Both trucks have been excellent. Roughly 80,000 miles between the two of them. The only issue I had was a fuel rail pressure sensor that failed. I have a 2021 HD coming soon, a 1-ton crew SRW with the 10-speed. We'll see how it does!

In my opinion, it’s a great value for the power increase when added with the cold air intake. I have seen a slight increase in fuel mileage on the interstate. I had one of my Derringer modules fail… But they replaced under warranty.

In my experience, yes, the Derringer has increased my fuel mileage slightly. I attribute the increase to the Derringer basically fine tuning the fuel and boost delivery while towing. The trick is to drive conservatively...stay off the fun pedal!!

I have seen an incease in mileage for sure..about 1 MPG in town & 2 MPGs highway. I do not have the air intake but I have a sneaking suspicion my wife ordered me one for Christmas!

@@west2718 I am getting the Banks intake…I trust Bank’s engineering & actual testing they do vs. the competitor's intakes. The Derringer is a cost effective legal & safe way to add HP & TQ (say $1200 for Derringer, iDash, Intake vs $5700 ECU swap & delete). The new delete option (ECU swap) although provides more HP & TQ, creates a legal issue. Techinically your truck would be meant for off-road use only. Here in Pennsylvania, we have annual state inspection & the licensed mechanics know what to look for on these diesel trucks.
