It’s funny you mention that… I’m mad at myself for not racing the trucks against each other while I had them together. My Banks truck is back to stock and sold it already. I am going to try to find somebody around Erie that I know that we could line up against each other to see how a stock ‘24 compares.

I was only going for a small improvement in day-to-day driving and torque. I wasn't interested in going beyond that. My goal was to keep the engine basically stock. If you look at the dyno graphs at the end of the video you can see the truck is revving out to 4800 RPM

That is such a beautiful truck. I have a 2000 Silverado regular cab long box 2WD V6 that I will never part with and hope to do a full restoration like this someday. As far as I’m concerned this generation of GM trucks are some of the best trucks ever made.

Beautiful truck. I always wanted one of those. Never did even get to drive one. I do feel that these new L8Ts are pretty comparable to them though. I base that off the last generation of the 454 trucks. Also I just figured out a few months ago that you’re in one of the 6.6 gas Facebook groups. It was actually from a post about this truck.

My GMC 2500 AT4X with this engine and transmission gets 9.6 around town and 11 to 13 on the highway. When I am pulling a 21ft open bow boat, about 7.5 MPG. I'm no leadfoot, either. If given the choice, I'd go with the diesel. The gas mileage for this engine is unacceptable.
