Building that incredible, movable - extendable dock could not have been an inexpensive project! And they are just going to stop having cruise ships!?!? Weird…. Thanks for taking us along.

No, they are not gonna stop having cruise ships, the ships have to be electrical/no pollution. Geiranger is popular, so I´m quite sure some cruise companies are already making new ships.
That dock is amazing! That view from first stop is gorgeous.

Thanks for bringing back memories of our visit to Mount Dalsnibba in 2009 during a P&O cruise, before the gift shop at the top of the mountain was built. We also visited the gift shop by the lake which was frozen over and snow pilled up along the side of the roads at least 2 metres high, that was in the month of June. We booked to visit again in May next year.

We were just there with RC and when we stopped in Geiranger it was a bit cloudy at the stop on the top. It was nice to see from your video what we missed.

Thanks for sharing this video and such amazing and out of this world scenery! We plan to visit Norway next year and Geiranger is definitely on the top of our list of places to visit during our road trip in the western part of Norway. That extendable pier is really cool, never knew these even existed!

Loved that port. It snowed on the mountaintop the day we went up in September, but had melted by the time we got up there except for little teeny tiny snowman somebody get made on a table top!

Awesome video. Great views. This is a trip we have been planning for awhile but has not materialized. Thanks for sharing a huge tip that the port will be closed in 2026 which means I need to make the trip by next summer!!! Enjoy!!!

It won´t be closed. Electrical/non polluting ships will be allowed. I´m quite sure that some cruise companies are already making new ships.

We were on a RC cruise to Norway last year and the port call in Geiranger had to be cancelled when after a half hour of trying the moveable pier wouldn't extend far enough. As we didn't have a shore excursion booked and there didn't seem much to the town it was no great loss. It was the trip there through the fjords that counted.

What was the name of your tour and who did you book it with? We will be there is September on the Rotterdam and wonder if its the same tour we booked.
@SharonatSeaTravel4 ай бұрын
It was with Venture Ashore. I'm sorry, I don't recall the name. If it includes the Geiranger Skywalk, it's probably the same. Seemed like almost every tour by bus included all the same stops.

lol Mathew trying to throw a "snowball" You can tell you don't get snow in AZ. You need to know how to make one depending on the texture of snow. Not all snow is good packing snow. Then if it's not good packing you need to learn how to make it but not to the point of an "iceball" John from the Ship Show would understand what I'm talking about. Question, did anyone have motion sickness issues on the road going up the mountain(s)? I normally don't but I do have an issue with small tight roads depending on the "curb" side. Like if they are tight and have NO room to slide the left or right.
@SharonatSeaTravel4 ай бұрын
Hi Heidi!!! Surprisingly, no motion sickness, or at least none visible. The AC in our bus wasn't working, it was very hot and uncomfortable..many people complained. The roads were tight, but we went very slow.
@heideleskun11634 ай бұрын
@@SharonatSeaTravel Thanks, appreciate the road info. I can guess how no ac with everyone in the bus would be "heavy air", especially with y'all probably not dealing with humidity at home. Or is that not true anymore? The "heavy air" gets me more than the temps honestly Really enjoying the vlogs much appreciated. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

Look for any tour with Dalsnibba Skywalk and Eagle Road included in it. Many companies will offer this as an excursion option.
