The deleted/edited scene from the MLP episode was talked about on Equestria Daily for a while since it was first aired. But perhaps the most controversial change was when a background character had her name removed. The episode was "The Last Roundup", and the background character was named Derpy by the fans on account of her crossed eyes and slurred voice. The moms complained to Hasbro, and the background character never spoke again until the 100th episode. I can tell you that the fans weren't happy with the decision, and neither was the voice actor.

The crew and everyone has to understand that villains are meant to be scary and that's part of what makes them great with kids liking them regardless of being scared and wellbeing and it's no reason to downplayed or removed, especially since Rupert Degas sounded great as Diesel 10 originally. In Season 9, Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy shows no complex despite a few things as well as King Sombra and Storm King and they're all very great as being evil, power hungry and world conquering which is what we like about them without anything else.

As I understood from this video's explanation, it can send the message to kids to be overly critical of their bodies, not to the point of trying to be more healthy, but to the point of stressing over minor variations in numbers on the scale. Of course, the joke is "mom and dad body" but kids don't get it yet. I think the episode should be reworked: dad goes to a checkup and medic says he's passed the threshold from overweight to obesity 1, medic explains the extra stress dad's heart will go through and diabetes development if he keeps this up, then dad goes into a professional-prescribed diet and exercise routine then he finds out including the kids on his journey makes it more fun. Like this, the episode would be wholesome AND educational AND riskless. Kids will not learn to be mean to themselves and others over weight, they learn when to truly worry - and HOW to worry-, and everyone is happy
@bluestreaker92429 ай бұрын
@@ViniSocramSaint Thing is, I feel like the episode could have killed two birds with one stone as is: teaching kids that physical fitness can be fun, and that sensitivity is a valuable skill to have. Like, maybe mum takes the kids aside after all's said and done and tells them to be more careful with their words as words can hurt people. "Kids say the darnedest things" as the saying goes, and it's usually not out of malice that a kid says something offensive, often times out of just pure ignorance; kids that young don't exactly have all the tools equipped to recognize when they're hurting someone else's feelings, so it's up to the parents to talk with their children to discuss the importance of being respectful to others: "You wouldn't like it if someone said mean things like that to you, would you?" is honest-to-god a good question to ask at ANY age - it's a philosophy I live by, and I think it's an important one to teach, as it shows maturity when you don't just resort to name-calling at any given avenue, ya know? :3

Even as adults we can learn things about ourselves and the world through play. It's why I believe that you're never too old to play games, be they video games, board games, card games, sports, etc. Recreation is just as much a part of life as childbirth, so to ban the episode "Dad Baby" kinda, to me, sends a message that NEITHER are okay, and that's just not right. @@pinkdiamond1847 It does sound almost vaguely familiar, but as an American I can't confirm this. I wouldn't be too surprised if this was the case however, as it seems like early cuts of some pieces of Thomas media are released internationally in limited numbers before the finalized version is sent out. Like with Thomas & The Magic Railroad, where the early cut that included all of the PT Boomer scenes must've found its' way to Japan for marketing, because there is a trailer that includes several scenes of PT Boomer as if he was the main baddie. So it's possible an early cut of Calling All Engines! where the Dream Song was still part of the movie made it's way to the UK, but we may never know.

Honestly the Thomas dream sequence kind of involved good endings for the trains, coming from someone who lives in a rural area broken down vehicles are often just left out to rot, but when they're used as fair or farm decor at least they're getting a second life and still being enjoyed by people. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle after all. And I think the body image scene from Bluey could have been edited and gotten a better message across. Like, consider this: the dad weighs himself and is a little concerned, saying something like "oh, i weigh a little more than usual. I should exercise a little more" (relating the problem to his own body's average weight instead of just seeing a big number and being concerned) but he doesn't pinch his body to compare it with his appearance and his wife doesn't respond with "you sure do!" when he says he needs to lose weight.

I don’t watch Bluey, but I feel like sharing my thoughts on the the Fruit Bats scene, since I don’t see many others talking about it. I think the scene was within reason to delete. Children could seriously hurt themselves sliding on a wet bathroom floor like that, by crashing into the wall, the door, another object, such as a heater, or, worse, glass windows, mirrors or showers such as that behind Bluey herself, at relatively high speeds with little ability to stop themselves. Within the episode, Bluey has a clear line from the wall to the door, so she’s less likely to be injured, but that might not be the case for other, real, children in smaller bathrooms. I can see why parents would be concerned by their children imitating Bluey’s behaviour and possibly suffering injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to broken bones and concussions from colliding into objects head-on.

Personally, I think the reason why the scene from Daddy Put Down was deleted might have been due to how direct the question is. Bingo isn't _just_ asking where babies come from. She's asking how the baby gets in the mother's "belly". It acknowledges the fact that children live inside the mother before birth, and doesn't allow room for ambiguity, like with the "stork" explanation. Perhaps Disney felt it was best to not let children learn it from Bluey, and instead felt that it's better to let the parents teach their children when it's appropriate for them to learn, for example, if they're about to have a sibling.
@matthewkuscienko46169 ай бұрын
It makes sense to me, given that explanation. There are a lot of people that are very uncomfortable talking about that sort of subject matter, and it's generally not considered to be appropriate in public, either. Delete the windmill scene from TTTE. This is silly. We've seen all manner of buildings get destroyed in the series. "How babies get into the lady's belly?" that is a difficult question to answer without being too explicit. Dad Baby kind of hits the nail on the head. If Disney+ thought they were pure to the core, then watch the documentary "The Story of Menstruation" (1946). 14:15 Did they really have to be so graphic about this? It's nature taking it's course, but could have just had farts and stink waves. I've seen the episode in Kids Next Door "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.-T.H.R.E.E." where the Delightful Children eat their birthday cake tainted with...well I don't really have to say it. I thought Tweenies kind of took it to a new level. I remember a Sonic Says short where Sonic empathised that a knife is not a toy. But my brother does like horror games so I decided to look up the lion and the bear scene on youtube and show it to him (don't worry he's 17 I'm not traumatizing a little kid) He said he actually found it to be very unsettling. I asked him how can you find this creepy when you watch lets plays of Choo Choo Charles and Five Nights at Freddy's? He told me that it's probably the context. The horror games that our generation love so much are advertised as scary and their lore shows that they're scary too. Therefore, when a person pulls up one of these games, they have some level of expectation that they're going to be scared, thus making the fear less potent especially if you play the game over and over. But with the lion and the bear, the setting is a baby show intended to have the opposite effect. Teletubbies is intended to be soothing and sweet so an unsettling scene comes with no expectation and thus feels more jarring

Gen Z and unable to play Fnaf or watching a let's play without the timecodes so I relate. I used to loved Teletubbies as a child and their Belgian version "Bumba" (same thing but cheaper and circus themed). But now they are nightmare fuel for me. I think it's because they are also, like FNAF having an atmosphere really heavy and usually slow in a wrong way. (Lion and the bear seems just an exception making the short even more unsettling). Some kids show can work with this kind of atmosphere. Unfortunately I don't have a International example so I will say the emissions of my childhood. "Tik Tak" and "Bonne nuit les petits" are some examples of show using slow and heavy pace. But this make sense to me. This are show that are meant to be the last one of the child before his nap or going to bed. So they do their best to present something appeasing. Teletubbies doesn't seems to have this excuse. I don't know if that make any kind of sense but I want to share it just in case...
@twofacetoo759 ай бұрын
That's always the thing about stuff like this: horror stuff in a horror context is fine, because you're expecting it. But horror stuff in children's TV is fucking TERRIFYING because it catches you so totally off-guard. Fundamentally speaking it's less scary, if you put the lion and bear models in a FNAF game it'd be more of a dumb joke than anything genuinely scary... but in the Teletubbies episode itself? Absolute nightmare fuel.
@Man-wolf-9 ай бұрын
I mean that is after all what games like fnaf & batim are going after-their based on moments like the bear scene where a meduim made to make you feel happy & comfantable ends up becoming twisted , its what scares people not so much the gore & blood Its why analog horror + internet horror is also really popular-because it takes certien moments from your childhood that you didnt realise how creepy they really were (like again the bear scene) and twists it even more

For the Bluey scene with the pooping unicorn, all you have to do is ask yourself, "Is it really appropriate to show kids a character pooping on screen?". Chances are a lot of people would say no, and I agree. Besides, i don't think it even teaches kids anything other than "animals poop too", which they more than likely already know.

The Thomas The Tank Engine "Dream Song" is very similar to that one scene in The Brave Little Toaster where cars are getting crushed. Both are equally horrifying. But I adore the stop-motion of Thomas, and I wish the medium was treated with more respect. I've been watching various claymation and stop-motion media lately, including the two California Raisins specials and the Will Vinton documentary Claydream. Strider, I HIGHLY recommend watching Claydream, it's an interesting look at Will Vinton Studios [also responsible for the Adventures Of Mark Twain Movie], and how Will lost his company. It's a bittersweet story, but one that is very important, in my opinion.

Regarding that last scene with the lion and the bear, it reminds me of a scene from an episode of Pingu where Pingu and his friend upset an angry old lady, and then later try to make things up to her. Every time she appears on screen, this weirdly scary/agitating music plays, and there's one scene where it keeps cutting to a shot of her looking out her window, with foreboding music playing. idk what they were thinking with that.

Some speculate the reason the scene was edited out was the fact that when Disney brough it to their channel they wanted to shorten the episode but.... some people say (And I believe this) that the real reason is because the bushwoolies were running with scissors

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic in entirety is an adult swim show disguised as a kids show to be honest. There are way too many horrifying moments in that show to consider it morally acceptable. Sometimes it surfaces Family Guy and South Park in a lot of ways, yet those disgusting and eerie episodes remained untouched and constantly being streamed to children. As a former brony, I utterly disappointed in the show from various aspects and so as the brony community as a whole.

I think the one Bluey episode could've had an edit rather than a censor. i.e having someone tell him that he should do it for his health, not because he feels fat or something. Like have the wife give her husband some body positivity - while also saying "hey if you wanna exercise, let's do it together as a family!" to drive the focus off of it, but still make the conversation something kids probably WILL hear. Basically go "You might hear your parents or other adults say stuff like this, but it's important to focus on being healthy and exercising because it's good for you RATHER than because someone says your body has to look a certain way." -- having a loving couple reassure one another on their body being fine but loving the idea of getting healthy TOGETHER would have tackled THREE things: 1. Body Positivity 2. The realism that some people will say bad things and 3. Health is important.
