My grandma is just like this she has a childlike mind rn and wonders around. She can’t put words together a lot and can barely read things anymore she has to read them one at a time in a slow pace

Be very aware of who holds an EPOA. The courts are full cases where seniors are being financially exploited and it can cost thousands in lawyers. The law is so light in this area and unless there is physical abuse, police are hesitant to act under law 331 of the criminal code in Canada. There are various theft-related charges that cover elderly abuse including s. 331, which makes it a crime for someone holding power of attorney to fraudulently sell, mortgage, pledge or otherwise dispose of the property of a person under their care.
