Glad I found your channel, really great content! A tactic i've been using recently is to use trebs to achieve superiority (like you did here) and then reduce the walls. Once the walls are down I swap out the trebs for fire catapults. When I start the assault, i stop the infantry from advancing, then I take control of one of the cats with a good firing line of the wall opening and start blasting whatever defenders are stacked there while I have companions manning the other cats to gain xp. I'm using a mod called Simple Siege Ammo that allows for adjusting ammo in arrow barrels and siege weapon piles so it makes getting the cats on target a little easier.

An excellent strategy and I recommend for people IF they have time. Often times in my campaign I have very little time because there is often another castle/city under siege and I gotta move fast. Your strategy isn't just sound though, it's killer(and works, I've tried it).

Hello, before I start watching the next great video from you, I use the Adjustable Leveling Mod. My main goal when I first installed this was to level up my compannions easier. You have options for every skill, you can decide how fast you want to level your character, your compannions or all the other nobel NPCs. At one of my last battles I defend a castle against a 2000men Khuazit army and all of there leaders have 343 medicine ( with my options the highest what you can get is about 350), some also in leadership and trade. There were less kills at the end because of their medicine skill, but I get 2000 prisoners. What I want to say, also with this mod you can get enemy armies with only elite soldiers and high moral etc. in it. I testet the xp for troops option, I get only elite troops in enemy armies, but this option is also for my troops, garrisons and also the prisoners join faster. I like this mod. And now, I have my coffee and enjoy your video.

I'm very glad there are mods out there like this that alter the game positively for so many playing styles. It sounds like those who want a REALLY hard challenge simply need to load your mod to have nasty enemies loaded with tough troops...

I also love war history. I am warhead, my head is full of war, lol. Napoleon is a favourite of mine, too. Although, I kind of prefer Wellington as he devised the means to counter Napoleon. If you haven't already read them or listened to the audiobooks, I would recommend the Sharpe fiction novels by Bernard Cornwell. And for general war history, any podcast by Dan Carling.

Carlin I imagine you mean, indeed, I love him, but I also like old school writers like Will Durrant. Incredibly smart, complete and witty history.

off-topic, just learned that if you keep attacking the "civil wars" and get the the fiefs, no one will attack me, they only start wars with me after I make my kingdom... I have now 7 towns and 1 castle and nobody attacked me, now started to declare war on weak empires... is is an exploit? hope not.
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions3 ай бұрын
It may be unintentional but I'm not sure I would call that an exploit of course in real life if you allied yourself or rather you picked up territory previously owned by the enemy and claimed for yourself you would be wildly attacked but no one said banner Lord was the epitome of realism

@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions i never took from the empires, only when i became on civil war, of course its their, if it is an exploit I cannot do it anymore =[

obviously no hate on you picking your own difficulty settings, but I daresay these videos would hit a lot harder if your commander was equally at risk of being downed by a stray arrow, lance, or axe swing as his troops were having half-damage enabled kinda gives reduces the stakes of these otherwise really cool battles you're showcasing in my opinion
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions3 ай бұрын
Noted bud, thanks for the feedback. I don't do this very often in siege, when I defend in siege, even if it's against 6,000 foes, I run with normal player damage, but in my experience it's almost impossible to survive hour long sieges with normal player damage, and unfortunately once the AI takes hold, even if you use the RTS mod, things get out of hand pretty quick. Nevertheless, I'll take your comment into consideration!
