The sodium comes in way of preservatives. Not all sodium are created equal. You don't get a salty taste from those sodium compounds.
@KevinWindsor19717 ай бұрын
People have no concept of what a milligram actually is. 1 gram is one thousand milligrams. Using my digital scale: 1 gram of fine table salt is approximately 3 quarters of a quarter teaspoon. So 1250 milligrams would equal about 1/4 teaspoon. Salt is made from sodium, but sodium itself is not a salt. It is a metal. You need 500 mg a day for your body to function properly. Notice the ingredients for the Salisbury Steak lists salt as less than 2%. With that tiny amount mixed in, you would never be able to taste it.

I had one of these a few nights ago, it was entirely edible....that's about the best praise I could give it. I did cook it in the oven instead of the microwave, and I completely removed the covering on the taters instead of just spitting it so they had a CHANCE of going crisp..... It KINDA worked, but I needed to give it an extra few minutes and a pat of butter to do so. Ended up making 2 sandwiches with plain toast and used the taters to stop up the "cheese" sauce. It was edible. Unlike loads of banquet products.

I've eaten that particular Banquet Mega Meal within the past month, and it didn't seem that bad to me. Agreed that the potatoes were the best part: not at all soupy like frozen-entree mashed potatoes usually are, and they went well with a little catsup & salt. The BBQ cheese sauce was at least a little different from the usual brown gravy with Salisbury steak, and the overall effect was "I want to be a bacon cheeseburger when I grow up". I didn't attempt to consume the leftover cheese sauce after finishing the meat and the potatoes, but the dog and the cat both loved it.

I'm on the west coast in WA state so just wondering how things are in other states.
@viktorakhmedov34426 ай бұрын
Yeah Dollar Tree is in serious financial trouble because Family Dollar sucks and they should have let Dollar General buy it. Dollar General is in trouble because they ripped out cash registers at thousands of stores and installed self-scans and with 1 employee working at any given time, theft went through the roof. So now all of those machines are closed and the 1 person who is also stocking and cleaning and doing everything else needs to check out a line of a dozen people that meanders through the cluttered mess of a store. God forbid they hire more than one employee.
