Is it possible to just import a code plug directly into my DM1701 . If so would I be able to just adjust the settings e.g. beep sound, squelch etc or would it affect my current settings. Tnx.

When you have a green receive on Digital and not hearing anything... Hit the menu, scroll to digi moni and turn it on Digi Moni should be setup for double slots so that both slots 1 and 2 are checked. once you have found out what they are really using you have to set the xmit channel to match

This radio doesn't have that function it appears HOWEVER the DMR Groups is working. They just seem to be quiet. I left the Radio on one evening and caught some chatter on BC1 so , it IS Working !!! YAY :)

@@ham-fam Actually the radio does have a monitor mode. If you turn off PrivateCallMatch and GroupCallMatch under Menu->Utilities->Radio Settings the radio is in monitor mode.

Hey! I hope you are doing well! I just got the DM1701, I actually started with the anytone 878 for my 1st DMR radio, and I loved it, I no longer have it, so got the 1701, I cant find the firmware online tha it came with though, 2.006 all i can find is 3 or prior. I should have backed it up before using the openGD77 firmware, as now i want to go back and play with that. do you have any idea where to get the 2.006 version of the firmware by chance? also, on some of the local DMR repeaters here, I can see the light turn on but its not getting anything, almost as if I have the wrong Rx tones or something, but there is no tones, do you think maybe the CC is wrong? It works with my pi-star great! also I just got a real raspberry pi, and found a cool RF board i want to try, its like 160 bucks right now though, but i have 2 SDRs im going to try and see if i can set up SDRtrunk on the pi and see what happens haha thanks 73 W0NLB

I have not tried the OpenGD77 firmware for the DM1701 -- The only Firmware that i can find is from here - www.baofengradio.com/pages/download however i have no idea if it works as i have not seen anyone revert back to the original firmware.

22:00 same problem im having i connected with a law enforcement dispatch system, all i get is a green status, channel mode is digital and receiving frequency is right.

You are correct, to my knowledge this radio does not seem to have a "Digi Mon" function at all

Well from what I have read it may be this in your case. The light comes on indicating the radio can see a carrier signal being transmitted but you either do not have the Talkgroup ID/timeslot programmed if connected to a public repeater OR if you are monitoring a public service frequency and they are on digital it's probably encrypted so all the radio can do is tell you it sees a carrier wave but does not "know" how to decode the info its transmitting. maybe?
