President Obama was the best president of my lifetime. Don't fall for the Fox, OAN, and Newsmax (among others, like Republicans in Congress) selling the idea that he has dementia. Yes, he's the oldest president, but he is still very good at his job, and exceptional as a decent human being who truly cares about the people of this country. He doesn't cater to the rich, or spend his time golfing and lying every five minutes. If it weren't for trump, I have no doubt that he would have loved to retire.

Night Media owns the botnet that posts these comments and upvotes them to the top. It's quite an expensive service, I suspect it amounts for most of the DNC spending. Note that Act Blue is the fundraising branch of the DNC, note that when you click "donate" on the BLM website, that you enter your payment information on an "Act Blue" url. All BLM money raised in 2020 went into Biden and the other DNC candidates campaign, with over 60% of the $1.2 billion raised by BLM going to Biden of course.

Barack Obama is one of the smartest, most erudite speakers I've seen. He tried to bring the country together, but unfortunately, we learned just how many racist people there are in America. Its disappointing, because he's probably the best president of my lifetime. He was very respected by our allies, and showed that he was there to help the people in America, even the haters. The way he and Michelle were treated by the far right was despicable, but he and the former first lady showed nothing but class and integrity for those eight years and beyond.

Ten years from now, we may not be in a position to recover the sense of respect we have around the world that we have lost over the last six years." The answer to his statement is in 2017, the respect was eviscerated by 2017 by having Donald Trump in office in the United States as president. We Americans now have zero self-respect for each other and are completely tribal down the party lines, so no we do not have the "sense of respect we [had] around the world".

I was in 5th grade when Obama was running for president and won the election. Even though I never supported him as a child, looking back, he offers an enormous amount of nostalgia. It is so crazy to me how much our presidential debates and nominees have changed since his presidency. In retrospect I believe Obama served as a father figure and role model for so many 90's kids and early 2000's kids. Watching this I am filled with nostalgia and have a sense of longing. I may not agree with all of his politics but I miss Obama being our president so much. It felt like he really cared and he was just such a cool guy. The JFK of the 21st century, man. jay burns is a genuis as Steve Jobs wore the same shirt everyday to keep focus on his job with apple computers I know from knowledge, every second you fear something or worry or think negative , even about an enemy , is a second of thought not used to solve the problems of my daughters world and all us loving , caring ones , so she can live in peace and happiness forever with her mom and friends . I find as my aunt taught me always show your happy , forgiving side to the children , they are super smart and worry about us adults and parents too, it’s like when the ambulance drivers leave the ambulance running when they go inside chipotle to eat, they know I love and care for gretta thunberg and want her to get her gas cars back and the brilliance team will need Andrew tatesc car collection as well as there’s no need to drive while your in solitary confinement (forever), love you Olivia !!

Yes you're right it was an ignorant statement the presenter made. But in 2007 I'm sure it was a question many of his opponents, and many of his constituents, were thinking.

Well even in 2007, they wanted someone was running for president to have a specific sounding name; one with the white Anglo-Saxon Protestant variety’s

I guess you don’t realize the extent to which White Anglo-Saxon names-and people-dominated pretty much everything in the US from the very beginning until quite rather recently. I’m white with brown hair and green eyes but because I can tan, and am not blue eyed and blonde, I actually grew up feeling kind of “dark.” That’s how dominant, and numerous, white hegemony was, even in the 80s and 90s.

Inspiring and yet sad at the same time. Inspiring because he has noble ideas that will move the country forward. Sad that during his term Tea party was born that became disgusting Maga. We are at the crossroad of history, democracy as we know it is under attack by Trump and his cronies.

Much deeper than that. Not just Trump, but modern politics in general. Each side of the aisle has contributed to division at the benefit of their own constituents. Traditional media, social media, so many factors.

4:00 "Ten years from now, we may not be a position to regain the respect this administration (Bush) has lost over the past 6 years." While he was absolutely correct, the statement seems like such an understatement in 2024, it would be funny if not so tragic. THE GOP STRIKES AGAIN!
