President Obama was the best president of my lifetime. Don't fall for the Fox, OAN, and Newsmax (among others, like Republicans in Congress) selling the idea that he has dementia. Yes, he's the oldest president, but he is still very good at his job, and exceptional as a decent human being who truly cares about the people of this country. Barack Obama is one of the smartest, most erudite speakers I've seen. He tried to bring the country together, but unfortunately, we learned just how many racist people there are in America. I love the quote from now-former President Obama back in 2007: "We have a narrow window to solve some of the problems we face. Ten years from now, we may not be in a position to recover the sense of respect we have around the world that we have lost over the last six years." The answer to his statement is in 2017, the respect was eviscerated by 2017 by having Donald Trump in office in the United States as president. We Americans now have zero self-respect for each other and are completely tribal down the party lines, so no we do not have the "sense of respect we [had] around the world".
