Thank you for your honesty. I hate when other reviewers read notes on their reviews and DONT mention that the notes read are just someone’s guess of what they assume the notes in the perfume are. I like this one but I don’t love it like I do Pardon, black Afgano, Narcotic V and China White. China White especially is some kind of amazing, it keeps me coming back for more and more. I can’t stop smelling it and every time I spray it I get something different. I used up half the bottle in a few months, I had to buy a second bottle. I own 6 bottles from Nasomatto. The other two are Hindu Grass and Absinth. But i have 10ml decants of all of them. When I first tried Black Afgano I wasn’t crazy about it. But then I kept wanting to smell it, and I fell in love with it. I bought a full bottle ASAP and never looked back. Nasomatto truly is a genius. That said, i think the newest one sux. It’s the worst of the line, what was he thinking . It’s like that Silver Musk that smells like a boring weak ass musk. I have a decant and it never gets used and if i do use it, it’s to layer it coz alone u can’t even smell it.

I enjoy Duro and Pardon from Nasomatto....but Baraonda is my personal favorite from the line. I absolutely LOVE it.

In short, to my nose it's a photo realistic whiskey at the opening which transitions into a pair of distinct smells to me. One of them is that smell from inside a once full oak cask containing aged whiskey(oak and slight fruit fermentation smell), and the second is that smell inside of an empty glass of whiskey, it has that smokey, resinous, foggy hint of a once full glass of scotch or whiskey. Smells awesome, but it falls short of a 10 from me due to longevity which I find to be 6-8 hours, not bad but enough to ding it a half of a point at least to me. 9.5/10

Strangely this is like 1/10th the potency of Black Afghano...considering that, the price per ml on this one is pretty ridiculous. That being said, you can pick it up for around 120 right now, but even that is still a bit much!

Being correct on picking out the notes is what separates the men from the boys. Since they don’t publish the notes, u have to be good, real good at knowing what exactly is in there. I think u did very well. As for Black Afgano, I don’t know what they did this year because my newly bought Black Afgano is half the strength it used to be. HALF. And when I look at it I can see it’s much liter and watery. The other bottle I have is much darker and thicker. And yea I did buy my bottle from Nasomatto. I don’t trust grey marker sites or ever Dept stores. I’ll explain another day how fakes find their way even into the best and most prestigious Dept stores. Any store that accepts returns is prone to having ppl send back fakes. Because really the ppl who check the returned items do it fast and don’t really check for fakes, they check to see if bottle is full and that it looks nice. Many fakes are so well made that u can’t tell it’s a fake unless u actually spray the perfume and they don’t have time for all that. So yeah I think I just explained how fakes get into stores. You wouldn’t believe how many KZbin reviewers have tons of fakes in their “collection” and dont even know it. They just think “oh I guess it’s just been reformulated” mew while they buy all of their perfumes for cheap on grey market sites and eBay or fragrance groups. Now, I’m not saying every perfume u buy on grey market sites or anywhere else other than the perfume house website is fake. But it’s getting worse. Much worse. And the fakes are all coming from Russia, well the good fakes. The bad ones are from China. I would never take the chance. I k ow how to buy and from who. I know ppl in the industry and I have good friends who own perfume stores. I probably should make a video about all this. Nah . We shall let this be a secret between us here. After all it’s true, ignorance is bliss. What is Nasomatto thinking. I didn’t think they would pull this shit of weakening their frags. But they did. To all of them, not just Black Afgano. It’s the same story, put out a beautiful strong hyped fragrance, develop a good loyal customer base then BAM, weaken it and keep the price the same. They ALL do it. Look at Xerjoff, they are despicable, they reformulated their Richwood without the Mysore but kept the price STILL outrageously high and still claim to use Richwood when we all know they stopped using it way over 6 yrs ago. I can immediately tell the difference between the original and the reformulated one with patchouli. If you know what Mysore smells like then u can easily pick it out in the original Richwood. Oh what a beautiful scent it was. Just intoxicatingly beautiful. The reformulated Richwood is but a ghost of it’s former self. It’s still a very nice perfume but not worth $700. The greedy slobs who own Xerjoff must think we are all idiots and can’t tell the difference. Well most ppl are. Only an idiot would pay $700 for a perfume that costs Xerjoff $50 to make. Now with the Mysore in the perfume the price was justified. I could kick myself for not buying more bottles when I was in Europe. I doubt anyone could find any original Mysore Richwood. And if u do find anyone willing to sell u a bottle, be prepared to pay thousands because even for that much I’d never sell mine. Not even for a new car price, that’s how good it was. The operative word here is WAS. Still being the fool that I am, I did buy me a bottle of the new one. If only to be able to use my original less and make it last . It’s still a beautiful frag, I happen to love patchouli. But they need to lower their price on this one. They have to know that we all know.

A lit of things happening here brother- very surprised that it came across so smooth and well blended....... When I heard Krigler Established Cognac and Kilian Apple Brandy my ears were peeeeeeerked👏👏!!! Nice video overall and I’m totally good with your 15 minute or so reviews🤙🏼🤙🏼

Very reminiscent of Angels Share for me. Booze and dried fruit, much sweeter than I expected. Of course there are differences but in essence it gives me the same feel with a masc’ feel.

I wonder if anybody is like me. For me, Baraonda is an intoxicating scent that is boozy, mellow, sweet, a little bit like dried fruit, a little bit of a boozy rose, BUT that is only if I let the scent naturally come to me. If I intentionally smell up close, it's very harsh and almost completely different. Maybe it's because of the nature of the oil is so concentrated. The same thing happen to me with Nishane Fan Your Flames.

I've owned Duro before along with my favorite Afgano and my best description I can give you is that it's dry, tiny bit of sweetness, musky (maybe sweaty) harsh scent. It's not bad but it doesn't seem practical in a sense. I prefer dirty English because its rough but pleasing, Duro isn't that pleasing.

Received it yet and I must say it smells very, very, very strong. But it smells like tabacco and smoke 100%. Only for 10 seconds I can smell a boozy scent, but then only tabacco for 97% or so. Although after standing for some time in the flat the scents always change their smell. Maybe because of the temperature. I will wait for two weeks or so. I also learned that one has to learn to smell an love all these different scents. It is like learning classical music. It seems to be a longer process.

so; bascially Nasomatto want a bit of the Apple Brandy and STHExtreme pie =) mm, the booze note comes off a bit too strong on me but I still think it's more tame than the 3-shots of STHEx but it's not sweeter, more fruitier (friendlier) and pleasing overall than AB; so 7/10 (tested at Selfridges)
